[04:55:32] anyone here a WikiApiary admin? There's some spam https://wikiapiary.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/ZoeBreton576640 [11:56:40] hi everyone! i have a problem with mediawiki 1.35.2 which contains the VisualEditor. it is self-hosted, and i am still diving into it :) i enabled the VisualEditor by adding the wfLoadExtension line and now i can see the editor on Special:Version listed with Version 0.1.0. i can enable the visual editor in my user preferences. but when i do that, [11:56:41] and then click "edit" on a page, the editor does not open - in fact, noting really happens at all, it looks like a page refresh, and that is pretty much it. the only difference is the &veaction=edit in the url. is this by any chance a known thing to be easily fixed? [12:05:43] also, there is no error in wiki_error.log and wiki_access.log only shows http200 (ok) and 304 (not changed) so i am unsure where to look for more info [12:40:42] damaltor: Hit the F12 key, it should open your browser's developer console. You may see error messages in the console tab [12:46:09] Hi. In the context of an user script, I'm wondering how I can determine if the view is in edit (ve or source) mode. The `mw.config.values.wgAction` seems only partly useful when I load the editor using the User:Novem Linguae/Scripts/VisualEditorEverywhere.js (EN wiki) which loads `veaction=edit` and not `action=edit`. Thanks (I hope I'm in the [12:46:09] right channel) [12:48:11] Vulpix thanks. the console says "Skipped unresolvable module ext.visualEditor.desktopArticleTarget.init" [12:55:11] I'd say, wait some minutes and clear your cache. JavaScript modules may take 20 minutes to update after enabling a new extension [12:58:26] well, i am on it for a few hours now. :) parsoid might be off, as it seems to be running in 8142 instead of 8000. i will try to set the port in the localsettings now [13:02:38] Sorry I was disconnected. If there were any replies to my question, could someone copy paste them? [13:03:24] There weren't yet, sorry :) [13:03:55] Thanks again, Perry. I'll wait for someone :) [13:04:25] @vulp [13:05:13] Vulpix i have now changed the parsoid port to 8000 but still to no avail. simply nothing happens when i try to edit a page with the VE, while the wikitext editor works fine. [13:09:49] it actually looks like the extension is not even loaded by reading that error message. parsoid might be second stage to fix :) [13:11:14] right below the "skipped unresolvable module" message, there ist "Error: Unknown module: mediawiki.api.options"
