[20:58:55] If you are an employee (not a consultant) at any org, com, edu, gov responsible for supporting, developing and running mediawiki, can you please identify yourself (or PM me). I'm interested because it's annual review time and despite working in this space as both employee and consultant for literally 2 decades, my contact list has dwindled through attrition to almost zero. [21:01:17] rundg[m]: ps I'm https://www.linkedin.com/in/gregrundlett/ [21:46:51] "ps I'm https://www.linkedin.com..." <- Examples: I was an employee at OASIS, Bean Group, and Harvard University responsible for supporting, developing and running MediaWiki for internal users or our customers. Those employers are a) a standards consortium, a real-estate broker, a university. [21:48:00] rundg[m]: (cross-posted in MWStake General (Element channel)) [21:49:43] s/a)/respectively/ [21:53:40] rundg[m]: check your PM [22:52:53] To be clear, I'm trying to find out how MediaWiki plays a role in the Enterprise environment and what that looks like from first-hand accounts. [22:57:26] rundg[m]: you should publish something, even just an email to wikitech-l would be helpful, once you have some data. This broad topic is a thing that people ask about inside the Wikimedia Foundation, but I don't know of any systematic work that has ever been done towards finding answers. [22:58:08] CindyCicaleseWMF may know things that my brain is missing or skipping over though. She's the most active WMF<->Enterprise bridge I know of. [22:59:51] bd808: she's my hero 🙂 [23:01:43] she's good with code and people, so +1 on that choice :) [23:35:46] "To be clear, I'm trying to..." <- Then you should not exclude what you call consultants, since their bread and butter is Enterprise wiki's.. [23:39:38] I mean not only us, but.. Yaron, Jeroen, Jeffrey and all the others work with Enterprise wiki's. [23:41:19] * Enterprise wiki's. The last SMWCon is about almost nothing but Enterprise wiki's. [23:41:38] "Then you should not exclude what..." <- I'm not looking for consultant's perspectives or opinions. It's completely orthogonal to my interest. [23:43:50] I was a MediaWiki consultant for 7 years, running my own firm, and consulting for some of the biggest wikis on the planet. I want to talk directly with people at enterprises whos job involves MediaWiki - whether it's the CTO, or the sysadmin, or the Software Engineer, or Knowledge Architect.
