[00:24:32] Hello, i found some broken links on some pages on Mediawiki.org and i'd like to fix them, can anyone please help guide on how to go about [00:30:17] Safe: are you looking for a tutorial on wiki editing, or something else? [00:31:51] I think so, i assumed you could only edit text not links...I'll appreciate being pointed in the right direction...its my first time on Mediawiki [00:54:22] You can edit links the same way as text, although it's potentially they are being provided by templates which make it a bit more complex [00:54:45] Safe: do you have a example if what you want to update? [00:55:45] Thats precisely the problem [00:55:55] Yes i have an example [00:59:19] Some links on the Professional development and consulting page throw a 404 error, basically they're missing something [03:09:25] Hey, need a little help with rewrite rules. I used the rewrite rule tool at redwerks.org for my initial setup, but my edit pages are still using index.php. I can't seem to figure out how to get https://example.wiki/index.php?title=Title&action=edit to instead look like https://example.wiki/w/Title&action=edit. Here's my current rewrite rules: [03:09:26] https://dpaste.org/4PWYx [03:10:45] Oh and my script path is just "" and article path is "/w/$1" [03:12:24] Just viewing the pages, /w/Title links work just fine, but that's it. [04:08:45] Figured it out, it seems the rewrite rules generated by redwerks.org are just.. kind of wrong. Found the solution here: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T270376 [16:37:14] Hi, I think my Wikimedia Gerrit account was compromised. I received an email saying that an SSH key was deleted and to contact an admin if I didn't do that. Is this the right place to ask about that? [16:38:00] plasmapower: hi [16:38:21] I think i was just reading the email about this [16:38:53] Ah yeah I tried emailing sre-foundations but got an auto-response saying that "We're writing to let you know that the group you tried to contact (sre-foundations) may not exist, or you may not have permission to post messages to the group" [16:39:46] I think maybe hashar might be a good person to ask but he is not in this channel [16:40:05] It might be best just to file a phabricator ticket asking for your key changed [16:41:06] I'll look into that, thanks [16:41:38] or maybe you can just change the key yourself, since this is just your dev account [16:42:01] I left a message on T362760 (private task) mentioning that the instructions on what to do is confusing [16:45:08] plasmapower: you could try asking at the #wikimedia-operations that channel which has SRE people in it, this channel doesn't have as much [16:47:02] bawolff: I found the password I used for my gerrit account and it still works. Is there any way to change my password? [16:47:07] where do we instruct people to mail sre-foundations@? [16:47:16] taavi: the Gerrit signup page [16:47:28] https://idm.wikimedia.org/signup/ [16:49:00] I assume so, but i don't actually know [16:57:01] I think I got this sorted, thanks for the help. I found a password reset link that applies to these accounts at https://idm.wikimedia.org/wikimedia/password/ [16:57:28] woo [16:57:52] * bawolff was pretty useless during this process, glad you got it figured out :) [17:19:45] FYI: MediaWiki user and developer conference is going on now, there's a livestream at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xEe6YqdEro [18:18:36] Does anyone know how to contact Gerrit admins? [18:19:02] maxh: #wikimedia-releng [18:19:17] Thanks. [21:38:01] bawolff: you should propose a post for the @mediawiki masto account via https://masto-collab.toolforge.org/ [21:46:47] Done https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Project_talk:Mastodon#MediaWiki_User_And_Developer_Conference (cc moonmoon ) [22:00:23] bawolff: go forth and boost! [22:00:42] I don't have mastodon [22:01:48] one of those twitter folks then >.> [22:02:17] That's like a shitty version of mastodon
