[17:37:03] Hi [17:37:03] If I want to update from 1.31.0, can I go directly to 1.39.0 -> or should I move other versions in between? [17:38:17] Does anyone here speak German? [17:44:55] You should be fine to go 1.31.0 to 1.39.0 [17:45:01] Take a backup first :) [17:45:09] There are some german speakers, but I can't guarantee anyone is around [17:48:32] Thanks, I had already tried it, but the database or rather my wiki pages are missing after the update. I have reloaded the update for the time being. [17:50:15] Are you getting white pages? [17:54:08] They do not seem to be available and I am prompted to create them. [17:58:49] I have as described here (in short) https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Upgrading/de, unpacked the files on the server and moved the Localsettings.php and the images into the new directory, there were not much more changes. [17:58:49] Then I ran the script “php maintenance/update.php”, which worked, but the pages are missing and the edit history is still there. [17:58:49] I went through the intermediate steps on the website, but none of them were important. The skins and extensions are activated in the local settings. [17:59:33] Can you view the text if you try and edit it? [18:01:49] It only means that the page does not yet exist and can now be created. I cannot edit it. [18:02:06] Is your wiki public/on the internet? [18:02:27] Yes it is [18:07:11] It's not much, and so far only me as a user, but I would still like to avoid manually copying the few pages back in. [18:07:11] It gives the impression that the database is defective afterwards, and it doesn't work just to import it again afterwards. [18:07:45] !debug [18:07:45] For information on debugging (including viewing errors), see https://mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:How_to_debug . A list of related configuration variables is at https://mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Configuration_settings#Debug.2Flogging Also see https://mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Errors_and_symptoms [18:09:34] A mixture of the logs, and seeing how MW behaves probably will provide some clues [18:16:37] That sounds a bit more complicated, but will I be able to do it quickly...? Is there a log file of the script “php maintenance/update.php”? [18:27:53] update.php does output things, but you would usually be able to easily tell if something specifically errored [22:04:52] I tried a little more. A fresh installation from 1.31.0 update to 1.35.0->1.39.0 -> 1.43.1.Since an update always ended with errors in the display of the main page. This completely fresh installation leads to"Fatal exception error of the type "RuntimeException"when calling the start page
