[01:28:14] [[Special:CentralAuth/Boo Tran and the Kids]] @Doug Another [[w:WP:DUCK]] account, which shares a similar username such as Boo Tran Returnz!, Boo Tran is Back!, and Boo Tran is Back! The Beginning. Although they have only made this edit, I'm quite sure the username similarity isn't a coincidence: https://closinglogosgroup.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Adelstein_Productions&type=revision&diff=173303&oldid=136969 [01:28:14] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:CentralAuth/Boo_Tran_and_the_Kids https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:DUCK [01:28:14] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:CentralAuth/Boo_Tran_and_the_Kids https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:DUCK [01:28:15] [wikipedia] WP:DUCK | "The duck test – "If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck" – suggests that something can be identified by its habitual characteristics. The duck test does not apply to non-obvious cases. [05:00:22] re [[Stewards'_noticeboard#Bot_on_a_wiki]] perhaps a GS (or even better, Steward) would be better suited to answering [05:00:22] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Stewards%27_noticeboard#Bot_on_a_wiki [05:00:53] Personally, I didn't think there's any violations there. I'm not about to assume that kind of liability though lol [05:15:33] @dross I don't think it's necessary to bring it here. The user said that he is concerned about the pages with large mass titles, and the fact that there is no human activity on the wiki. He already replied to you still showing the same concerns. [05:17:18] Which is exactly why I am handing it off to somebody with actual authority on the matter. I am not in a position to make a decision regarding an entire wiki and its contents. However, it may be a semi-urgent matter if the user feels it is necessary to make a report or attempt to revert the content [05:17:40] Even so, in doubts what this user is requesting / what he is wanting to expect, or what this wiki is violating, as he cited the licenses of the images uploaded by the bot. [05:19:13] Just as I have to agree that as much as these bots when their pages created are bizarre, the titles are giant, and, who controls this bot? You see that the pages have half content [05:19:35] It is not wrong to bring an issue to the attention of functionaries. As I mentioned, I believe there is nothing wrong with the wiki. However, the user's insistence and my inability to action their concerns indicates to me that this will continue to be an issue until resolved [05:19:35] in good faith when it is not vandalism [05:21:31] Bizarre pages and long titles are no reason for concern, especially because they make sense in content. Half of the wiki is computerized data, presumably readable by the bot. With a little bit of research on-wiki, it is evident that there is a crat/admin and a admin/bot. A reasonable user would [05:21:31] assume the bot is controlled by the sole bureaucrat on [05:21:31] -wiki [05:21:55] There is no gibberish. It's a data catalogue. Pretty straightforward [05:22:15] There really doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the wiki, as as I mentioned, the wiki has some content on its pages, I also assume to say that these pages are not vandalism/harmful. The user who warned had cited the uploaded images on the wiki, too. And, it's good that you brought this up. [05:22:22] context** not content [05:23:03] Yes, I also believe it is controlled by humans
