[04:38:06] i did get covid past year in march and was asymptomatic [04:38:33] only sign that i knew that i had it was 'cause my brother had covid symptoms [04:39:21] regardless we both went to do PCR exams and that way we confirmed that we indeed got covid [04:40:07] if you're asymptomatic you still got to be extra careful to not give covid to others [04:42:21] at any suspicions you think you got covid (symptoms, contact with others) you might do a PCR exam to confirm it [04:45:22] covid kills ant [08:38:24] Yep, I keep telling my parents this but they aren't being careful. I was symptomatic. A close friend was asymptomatic, took a test before going to visit someone who is vulnerable, and tested positive then so didn't go. Unfortunately, they unknowingly passed it on to an older family member a couple days before. Thankfully they're doing fine, because vaccinated. My friend feels bad, and it's understandable, the worry stays [08:38:24] regarding potentially passing it on regardless. Not enough rapid tests to go around here, and PCR tests being denied to asymptotic people (and some symptomatic people) due to supply, capacity and staffing issues. [15:06:43] that sucks as asymptomatic people are like [15:06:46] a different kind of dangerous [15:07:55] Leave any holes like that and the integrity of antiviral efforts is partway out the window tbh [20:44:00] Yeah, and, he was vaccinated... but with new variant that means little. [20:45:35] Good way to stay out of the hospital though, which is it's primary target anyhow. I think people got too used to the idea that they were less likely to pass it and haven't quite adjusted expectations yet based on variant.
