[01:10:26] tis the season for media wiki 1.41 [01:10:54] https://lists.wikimedia.org/hyperkitty/list/wikitech-l@lists.wikimedia.org/thread/GWB2KGWDDPAVBKKBA5PSWPZFMXW7NCBV/ [03:19:06] [1/2] So for fun, I asked WhatsApp's "AI" what it liked about my wiki, and what could be improved. It listed five bullet points of things it liked, all of which were wildly inaccurate. It also listed six things it thinks need improvement, all of which are rephrasings of "SEO." [03:19:06] [2/2] I am fairly confident in stating LLMs are not up to the task of replacing human wiki editors at this time. [15:25:59] LLM are only using statistics on what to say in response to an input. They just put letters into words with no sense of context or knowing if that is true or not [15:28:15] [1/2] I also agree that LLM are severely underprepared into a lot of tasks. [15:28:15] [2/2] You could also use a typical algorithms to search for the statistical average answer on some question and do that. With no need to use billions of parameters [20:09:41] There has been this one person using a modified version of openchat to flood a wiki with small edits, long story short - when pressed he said he did it to get on the most edits list for "clout" [20:13:06] Which wiki? [20:18:10] I don't recall exactly, it was either a WikiDot wiki or one of the Wikipedia clones. I will post it if I find it [20:21:08] Oh yes speaking of Wiki drama, he's a what a Wikimapia edit war looks like. [20:25:19] If you got multiple monitors and a autorefresh script or the wiki in question has live view you can have some good entertainment [20:36:34] at this point I am actually considering a XMPP bot to monitor select wikis for edit wars, since I am the kind of person who would look at every detail or random things for no reason other than entertainment
