[06:56:53] any progress? [06:59:31] Work is ongoing [07:00:02] It doesn't quicker the more you ask [14:41:32] they were just asking for how things are going [14:41:39] not for things to rush [18:04:13] An update: The ssd drives on our swift server failed causing swiftac to crash. We carn't recover the data so are reinstalling. And will rebuild it like last time. [18:04:33] (the images are safe as they are stored on the hdd) [18:09:59] Are these the drives from the same company as the others that have failed? [18:10:11] I know drives fail sometimes but ... [18:10:15] they are WD green, not sure tho [18:10:38] SSD shouldnt be failing for years [18:11:05] ^ thats my point [18:12:49] agreed [18:12:57] the disks need replacing [18:13:18] disk 8 has failed just during the installation process. Disk 7 is fine but i'll go again [18:13:25] as it did before. [18:14:51] I would contact Western Digital, it shouldnt be failing SSD have a lifetime of years, and I know these drives arent even remotely close to EOL. [18:14:52] @owenrb the disks you ordered are they different ones? [18:19:57] damn [18:21:30] Would that cause any loss of wiki data from production? [18:21:39] no [18:39:55] They're WD warranty disks from the last batch replaced [18:40:06] ahhh ok [18:41:07] I'll get them shifted tonight for quickest delivery I can down to the DC tomorrow when I get home [20:57:06] Bruh, why are u guys buying WD Green? [20:57:44] They are the worst class of SSD with known randomly dies issues as they uses trash chips [20:59:31] They can fail at any time especially the WD Green [21:00:18] Hence warranty exist to replace the drive, not replace the lost data [22:01:53] yeh i think we'll stop using WD and go with someone else when we go with replacing servers etc [22:38:39] @paladox @orduin disks due to be sent tomorrow, already informed SC of the tracking ref and advised them to wait for further instructions [22:38:57] Thank you!! [23:18:16] Any WD but not Green one [23:21:14] [1/2] There's SSD tier list with known hardware inside [23:21:14] [2/2] https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B27_j9NDPU3cNlj2HKcrfpJKHkOf-Oi1DbuuQva2gT4/edit#gid=0 [23:53:17] Who’s in charge of physically installing them at the datacenter? [23:54:18] It will be the data center provider we use
