[00:31:42] i think hetzner is static at $5/month [00:32:44] why is my password too strong for hetzner [00:33:32] finally [00:40:51] Claire [00:41:05] Wanna hilarious vuln story I found [00:47:23] i'm getting hit my hetzner captcha in their own api calls [00:47:25] bleh [00:53:43] did i really pay 20 euros just to verify my account? [05:45:47] [2/2] https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Topic:Uki1noxd24po40qo [05:50:35] i.e. having only one icons for echo, which will have both alerts and notifs [09:02:06] [1/3] Can you try on my wiki? [09:02:06] [2/3] https://jwmeeting.miraheze.org/wiki/User_talk:Rodejong [09:02:07] [3/3] Just make some edits or thanks or something. [09:02:24] I am in Beta testing [09:03:51] [1/2] what I linked requires editing localsetting.php, so not something I can do [09:03:51] [2/2] or you are asking me to test something else on your wiki? [09:04:48] No I mean, it says that the notifs don't work on page, only in profile preferences [09:05:22] So let's test that, if it indeed doesn't show the notifs [09:05:47] that's something else, I just want to merge alerts and notifs, having only 1 icon [09:05:58] this thread is 5 y/o [09:06:06] Ohw.... I misunderstood then, sorry [09:06:25] [1/2] My TOTP authenticator isn't working. I'd like to reset the TOTP, I can use SHA512 for verification. [09:06:25] [2/2] What should I do? Thank you. [09:06:29] Ohw, LOL, hadn's even noticed [09:08:14] is this Miraheze related? [09:08:50] yes [09:15:58] I've found a way to reset TOTP and the reset is now complete. Thank you [09:16:19] I was going to say it deserves a Phorge task but yay [09:22:46] i mean, if you can't log into phorge... [09:23:00] ah [09:23:25] but hey, Clair [09:23:47] regarding php change in public test wiki, temporary, can you do it? [09:23:48] the bed is seductive... [09:23:50] it's pulling me in [09:24:04] i don't have push to mw-config, so i have to make a pr like everyone else [12:06:52] I think 503's Backend fetch are back again [12:17:03] (not that this information is anything more than what #miraheze-tech-ops screams) [12:20:32] Also those failures lately happen always at 12UTC and last for around 40 minutes [12:30:17] :ThinkerMH: [12:46:27] yeaaah, this time same story, point 12:00 UTC and almost exactly 40 minutes of downtime. Automated jobs? [12:57:30] Think so [12:57:41] I’m 99.99999% sure it’s the backups [12:57:59] if its hourly may make sense [12:58:41] i'd earlier accuse something in MediaWiki but sure haha [12:59:33] Agent and I were looking at the logs yesterday [12:59:46] After the site came up icinga was screaming [12:59:56] something about 400% load on the DBs [13:00:39] > [Grafana] FIRING: Some MediaWiki Appservers are running out of PHP-FPM workers. https://grafana.wikitide.net/d/GtxbP1Xnk?orgId=1 [13:00:45] other stuff also funky though… [13:00:48] this is weird [13:01:07] > puppet/paladox-patch-2 paladox 1ad7f60 mediawiki: move backup-all-wikis-ia cron to jobrunner class… [13:01:09] hm [13:01:31] considering its so time correlated I think it must be some automated job, but that's as much as I can tell from the outside perspective [14:35:50] Wdym additional [14:35:55] Just changing the domain? [14:36:23] Ah no, like, an another domain in case of the main one being unaccessable [14:36:49] I'm on a tight budget which leds to the domain being suspended 💀 [14:37:28] TMK not really [14:38:17] at most I can think of https://resilient.is/, but that requires someone to visit the page before [14:40:01] and TMK as well, this may be possible does to the fact that I have not made an redirect request yet, which I can use the miraheze subdomain along with it [14:42:33] it's unprecedented as far as I know of [14:43:15] depending if the registrar supports it I'd be tempted to donate a small bit to cover the difference [14:43:52] I use Cloudflare as my registar as of this moment [14:44:54] [1/2] which of course [14:44:55] [2/2] https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1006789349498699827/1331998100201668658/F.png?ex=6793a766&is=679255e6&hm=47f3f92d4de08282ca32170851f9d2ff9c00f8fe12decaeb8e4dcc11838e93de& [14:46:13] I would hope that I can pay the renewal fee before redemption period starts [14:49:35] ah [14:49:53] At lease you can donate to my wiki's github [14:50:40] that is a thought though I would have to spin up separately for that [15:05:10] RE: Yesterday's domain issues after custom domain got added. For a while I believed it must have been a Cloudflare issue, however analyzing my requests this doesn't seem to be the case. It seems like it always redirects to animalroyale.miraheze.org domain after I edit, once it resulted in an improper page getting made (in main content namespace while the edited page was Project talk page). I asked around and MarkusRost noticed that it depends on MW [15:05:10] server handling the request, some of them redirect from custom domain to miraheze domain. I assume it takes time for custom domain config to propagate through all of the servers? [15:06:28] [1/13] My results so far by just going to Special:Random [15:06:28] [2/13] * Redirects to `wiki.animaleroyale.com` [15:06:29] [3/13] * `mw152.wikitide.net` [15:06:29] [4/13] * `mw154.wikitide.net` [15:06:29] [5/13] * `mw161.wikitide.net` [15:06:29] [6/13] * `mw162.wikitide.net` [15:06:30] [7/13] * `mw171.wikitide.net` [15:06:30] [8/13] * `mw173.wikitide.net` [15:06:30] [9/13] * `mw184.wikitide.net` [15:06:31] [10/13] * Redirects to `animaleroyale.miraheze.org` [15:06:31] [11/13] * `mw172.wikitide.net` [15:06:31] [12/13] * `mw174.wikitide.net` [15:06:32] [13/13] * `mw183.wikitide.net` [15:08:48] A redirect domain can be added by us as a secondary domain, but there can only be one custom domain assigned to a wiki [15:09:51] So we can for example resolve "xyz.com" to "abc.com" but you could just do that yourself at the DNS level [16:55:09] Frisk: I just added a redirect for the miraheze.org subdomain, should be deployed in ~30m [16:58:53] oh, thank you! I really don't want to sound impatient. Forks are always stressful and I'm not too familiar with how fast changes on Miraheze propagate. [16:59:44] Hard to tell if something is a misconfiguration or just cache/slow propagation of configs :) [17:02:55] Also, I think there is a typo in the commit [17:03:38] 'animaleroyale.miraheze.org' -> 'animalroyale.miraheze.org' 'wiki.animaleroyale.com' -> 'wiki.animalroyale.com' [17:03:49] I can submit a PR [17:04:22] now that I know where it is lol [17:07:04] made a quick PR, idk if it's faster to approve than making change manually but whatever [17:07:26] I appreciate the help though! <3 [17:15:12] (also, yeah, now Markus made me realize typo was in their original Discord message which they later edited out rip) [18:20:06] merged ^ [18:21:02] and yeah, I copypasted from his message, but the relay only forwards the original version [18:21:03] Wooho! Thank you MacFan4000 :) [18:21:20] yup, understandable considering differences in protocols [20:17:55] I've got a non-urgent open issue at Miraheze Community portal. I'm not trying to jump the queue, just hanging out here in case anyone wants to ask for any clarification in real time. [20:21:16] Which one [20:21:22] Is it related to links not updating [20:21:28] Yes [20:21:38] Yeah that’s a bitch [20:21:56] Is it a known problem? [20:22:11] It’s a known issue, iirc it’s a result of something I don’t recall that can’t be fixed until we update to MediaWiki 1.43 because of a database table might [20:22:14] Migration* [20:22:44] https://issue-tracker.miraheze.org/T13014 [20:23:48] Okay, thanks. When is the migration likely to occur? [20:27:08] That’s a question better asked to @cosmicalpha, last I asked I think it’s aiming around a month from now to prioritize a smooth transition [20:27:23] this weekend, more or less [20:27:38] Really? [20:28:07] Ooooooh [20:28:18] I was thinking of the server updates [20:28:31] Didn't we say we'd give a weeks notice [20:28:53] https://tenor.com/view/luix-dextructor-anime-chica-anime-anime-girl-gif-9539419048687459494 [20:29:00] CA says only 3 days is needed for notice, especially since we’ve tested it pretty fully [20:29:14] :zuka_envious: [20:30:43] In that case confirm and may as well do today [20:31:01] I don’t think 3 days is good personally but whatever [20:31:53] Thanks. I've updated my original post so no reply is needed there. [20:34:50] well, we need to coordinate the effort with the team [20:35:02] if only one person is online and has to leave, it leaves us in a bad state [20:49:05] three days is a really short turnaround [21:14:51] there’s not much further that a few extra days will accomplish
