[09:01:27] [1/2] I lobbed a spitball at reception a few seconds ago and figure it would splat in here pretty well, suppose there was some kind of unpriveleged general clerk that was something like a patroller and was almost GP narrow in nature, specifically for tidying queues, triaging things, helping keep kind of the order of operations together? Something which could be the entry level on an altern [09:01:27] [2/2] ative non-CVT steward path? [09:03:53] [1/2] I think it could roughly encompass several things maybe; specialized noticeboard triage/pre review like some people have taken on over time, that triaging function including access to cvt/wiki creator wikis to help tidy?, even divest some of that broader reviewing function that was meant to be glued into wiki reviewer since it seems to be pretty narrowly centered on the queue and its [09:03:54] [2/2] probably not healthy to try and expand the scope of dedicated wiki reviewers. And also serve as some kind of pre-wiki mechanic role, either in the interest of offering shape to WM, or to be part of replacing it with something more suitable as a non-cvt advance track leading to assistant steward+ [09:04:56] it would have a narrowness similar to global patroller, kind of be a more specialized meta patroller but relate to global functions, specific incentive to participate in the organizational end rather than reactive elements, possibly appointment-first in structure? [09:05:11] very unformed train of thought so no doubt very porous [09:18:42] [1/7] and while I have an empty floor a bit more rationale; I suppose this has tight interlace with my long want for some kind of focused working group that can get in a room, have some kind of clear cut agenda, and be able to push things. The practice is that everyone's just kind of too busy at every level doing either their own thing or some other thing, and it would be nice to have some [09:18:42] [2/7] kind of clearly designated scope that involves actually sitting down and plotting a bit. [09:18:42] [3/7] One thought has been some kind of miraheze community council, group whatever as long as we don't call it a committee that is centered around looking at RfCs and looking at where we're going as a platform, I suppose with a Miraheze Monthly like model where there are guides but its pretty easy to just get in and lend your 2c. I want some kind of group working on some kind of lets meet [09:18:43] [4/7] up and look at where we're at and go from there cadence, and I want it to both be pretty inclusive of broad community and also have a pretty low barrier of entry. That's separate from clerks but maybe clerks are the inlet to coming up with that. [09:18:43] [5/7] On the roled end since wiki mechanic is functionally obsolete relative to tech simply being empowered to do what WM can do, maybe the 'community moderator' concept that was envisioned as kind of a step in the structure can be spun into something that is clerk+ but still on the community engagement and project management kind of track. I have even less clarity what that looks like but [09:18:43] [6/7] it would kind of glue in some thoughts of the 'communication director' I've had on and off for years while the focus is not on the buttons to push but the concept of moving the platform forward using its community functions. People explicitly scoped to think in this way because I think it can only really come from a role of some kind. Some part of Miraheze built to be communication [09:18:44] [7/7] and engagement heavy with enough penetration to have weigh internally and glue things together. [09:21:30] [1/3] And all of this as kind of the cvt-alternative to the steward route. Eventually such a person taking steward this way will have to learn basic CVT to reach steward but I would like to see a class of steward that earns its stripes by the community side, not just the vandal whacking, while also not making the path fully hierarchical; these roles would be facilitators. Doing something e [09:21:30] [2/3] very week to keep the cycle alive would be their entire point, its not something you could get and then in 2 weeks it becomes a hat while you're pushing content 1 day a month. [09:21:30] [3/3] So that's the thinking today, start https://discord.com/channels/407504499280707585/1225560610628964423/1553330654073323641 [21:29:45] https://klipy.com/gifs/elitedangerous-capital-class [21:33:37] you must never have met raidarr before [21:33:59] it's so tall..... [21:35:20] as someone who can only really muster up a few sentences for most things, I am always in awe of how clearly raidarr is able to think and how well he can put those thoughts into words [22:03:23] I write a lot but if I go back the next day it can probably be cut to a third or less tbh [23:31:34] [1/4] https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1225560610628964423/1553549621673066506/image.jpg?ex=6ab9a755&is=6ab855d5&hm=7b7cbbbd7360c0ef18ca54028e3f1877e3887c4d8853eaf475bacbd221c22ba2& [23:31:35] [2/4] https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1225560610628964423/1553549622033518713/image.jpg?ex=6ab9a755&is=6ab855d5&hm=964cc49d355477cfe8571af640b80593143179025aacb0169ab35b8367d698ae& [23:31:36] [3/4] https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1225560610628964423/1553549622432112730/image.jpg?ex=6ab9a755&is=6ab855d5&hm=76b8364242cd24bb97cd7f019473de940d581ce0409a0becb3ab51f6629eb668& [23:31:36] [4/4] https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1225560610628964423/1553549622880899072/image.jpg?ex=6ab9a755&is=6ab855d5&hm=f6a12d643dd5a5b3e39a856916a1b3f26f0d71b7df1a9b11db49a66fe72917ad&
