[04:34:12] One issue I have with showing off new features for the upgrade party is uh [04:34:47] [1/2] a lot of these are lowk really boring to the average user [04:34:47] [2/2] https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1225560610628964423/1554713094188568727/image.png?backend=b2&ex=6abde2e6&is=6abc9166&hm=3973188e47bb5e7c53ac4815af700c352f4101a23a060072f4cb6d296fee188c& [04:38:07] [1/10] To satiriz it a bit [04:38:07] [2/10] * this page you may know if you're a crat has different shaped boxes now [04:38:08] [3/10] * i honestly dont know what this is [04:38:08] [4/10] * isbn. does, something [04:38:08] [5/10] * useless config no longer exists [04:38:09] [6/10] * mysterious number went up. button is default now [04:38:09] [7/10] * copy button on specific type of format is better now [04:38:09] [8/10] * button not there if u no can click button [04:38:10] [9/10] * slightly less ugly [04:38:10] [10/10] * praise be thing works [05:05:55] [1/2] I'll probably spend most of the time on CM6 because it is the most consequential. Other entries we can just skim. Pinyin collation is only relevant to Chinese wikis so I probably won't talk about it. [05:05:55] [2/2] I would assume most people who come are power users who are pretty familiar with some of this stuff (e.g. MsUpload bug). [05:07:33] mmmmmmmm [05:07:43] I don't know how big that audiance is [05:08:26] In other news I plan to start with answering questions about what happened during the 1.46 upgrade that made editing impossible on all wikis so we'll see how that goes. [05:08:55] think i missed that bit [05:09:03] idk im more out of the loops than usual these days [05:09:27] The longest I can sit down and wiki wiki is at times like this (1am when I should have gone to sleep already) [05:09:32] Imo live demos are nice because it's interesting enough to see someone do stuff on a wiki even if the audience doesn't understand the content. [05:10:37] We had 30+ tasks on Phorge and perhaps 100 reports on Phorge about unable to edit their wiki. Probably one of the worst MW upgrades lol. [05:11:32] ..how did I miss that [05:11:41] https://klipy.com/gifs/help-8Mo [05:11:45] it was happening for like a week too [05:11:51] ?????? [05:12:02] bro im going wiki senile [05:13:20] It happened on the 28th. [05:13:56] august right [05:15:30] September [05:16:18] I could have sworn it lasted at least 4 days, maybe I'm going senile too [05:16:27] we did not update to 1.46 yesterday [05:16:32] right(???) [05:16:41] (or day before bc timezones) [05:16:41] [1/2] https://discord.com/channels/407504499280707585/1554152057286426645/1554152057286426645 [05:16:42] [2/2] This is an incomplete list of wikis that had errors [05:18:45] [1/2] In my timezone (ET), the upgrade started on the 28th past midnight. And then wikis were reporting being unable to edit. All active wikis except the ones upgraded to 1.46 were affected. The night of the 28th all wikis were upgraded to MW 1.46 and the errors were gone. So the whole thing lasted less than 24 hours. [05:18:45] [2/2] https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1225560610628964423/1554724159395729488/image.png?backend=b2&ex=6abded34&is=6abc9bb4&hm=34ce2b185fb2ff177bcc26ba55f5215d59c4771a87940520d3049be607cf0e7e& [05:19:18] On the bright side we completed the upgrade within a day instead of the predicted 3 days. [05:20:49] yay(?) [05:20:56] k im going to sleep I have to get work done tomorrow pix out [05:50:52] There was more than 50 tasks. [05:51:17] And a few hundred reports on Discord + email + Help desk + Community Portal. Yeah it was a mess. [06:01:17] ...the good news is that our wiki has had zero issues since the upgrade fix lol [07:38:28] https://github.com/miraheze/mw-config/pull/6461 would add some more config [07:56:02] Same thing with mine, aside from a few error 423s on my end on two articles on my wiki. [20:21:56] [1/2] I've got comments working now too [20:21:57] [2/2] https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1225560610628964423/1554951454479880252/Screenshot_2026-09-30_at_4.21.47_PM.png?backend=b2&ex=6abec0e4&is=6abd6f64&hm=3aaa102d1ccff32ce46a66a2797669c36442fe1a4e050e0f6f5099dc7f3514c2&
