[00:09:25] Hello MarkDilley! If you have any questions, feel free to ask and someone should answer soon. [00:09:38] Hi All, anyone here I can talk about a deleted wiki?  131parkhurst.miraheze.org [00:11:49] markwdilley@gmail.com [00:49:50] Maybe you can provide more specifics on what you want to talk about, then someone can get back to you when they have time? [00:51:37] Or perhaps somebackground, such as, did the wiki go doormant and get deleted per [[Dormancy_Policy]] [00:51:37] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Dormancy_Policy [00:51:38] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Dormancy_Policy [00:51:38] [url] Dormancy Policy - Miraheze Meta | meta.miraheze.org [01:02:44] yes, I suspect it went dormant and got deleted per policy.  I occasionally will get an email and I go update the wiki, I don't remember that happening this time.  I would like to talk to someone about how much in donations I can give to avoid the dormancy policy.  And obviously, if it is possible to recover my content.  Best, Mark [01:04:57] If it's been a long while, it's unlikely the database has been retained; in that case it likely no longer exists on Miraheze servers, but has been included in archive.org as is the routine when databases are dropped so they will still exist somewhere. All text-based data would be recoverable that way, though images would be lost. If it was a private wiki though, it would be gone outright. [01:05:40] You could inquire about it on the [[SN]] where a Steward would be able to check and see if the database was not dropped, otherwise you'd need to hunt for the archive. [01:05:40] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/SN [01:05:41] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/SN [01:05:43] [url] Stewards' noticeboard - Miraheze Meta | meta.miraheze.org [02:05:32] hi, how can i use this extension? [02:05:35] https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:CreateWiki [02:05:36] [url] Extension:CreateWiki - MediaWiki | www.mediawiki.org [02:06:16] i until not unsucceful. [02:07:39] CreateWiki is very complicated and it's SQL script is broken [02:08:32] so not user upgrade it? [02:09:00] hmm? [02:09:38] upgrade createawiki this exsions. [02:09:54] I'm sorry but I don't understand [02:10:49] It's probably easier if you manually create a wiki by using a WMF-like configuration where one domain goes to a certain database and such rather than use CreateWiki [02:10:55] https://github.com/miraheze/CreateWiki/blob/master/.github/workflows/globals.php allows for some configuration necessary to get CW functional. Also I recently fixed its compatibility with update.php as well. Will need to do manual table insertions like that file does though. [02:10:55] [url] CreateWiki/globals.php at master · miraheze/CreateWiki · GitHub | github.com [02:11:21] Oh what, really? [02:11:30] Well well well, guess I'm not getting any sleep tonight :P [02:12:38] I had a variety of patches for CreateWiki because I could never get it to work on my setup until I eventually gave up because CentralAuth decided to die on that test farm [02:13:10] Agent: yep, I got CW installed locally in like 10 minutes this time as opposed to 10 hours before. Granted I knee more of how it worked now to do it though. But yeah it even works to install via CI now so it should work to make local installations now. [02:14:22] I mainly just got CW to the point of working for ManageWiki functionality and testing some stuff though. No guarantees here. [02:15:23] CosmicAlpha: that's pretty cool, thanks for telling us :) [02:15:40] On my previous test farm, it took me a week to get CreateWiki + ManageWiki working [02:15:59] so it set up localsetting.php? [02:16:03] and even then, sometimes Special:RequestWikiQueue would die so I could never "request" a wiki [02:16:12] only make them [02:16:49] msnhinet8: I guess so, you can try and install it like a normal extension and configure it via LocalSettings.php [02:17:23] ok [02:17:33] I try it. [02:17:51] if not work i again talk you [02:17:58] Agent [02:18:19] Nice [02:22:59] hi again your friend channel is where? [02:23:08] agent [02:23:40] I can you request help? [06:42:53] thank u :mirahezelogo: [11:25:08] Hello Darkuss! If you have any questions, feel free to ask and someone should answer soon. [11:26:09] hello, is it possible to force a wiki to a certain skin (i.e. vector)? [11:32:05] Darkuss: `$wgSkipSkins` in Special:ManageWiki/settings#mw-section-preferences will disable the global skins from being usable if that is what you mean. [11:34:26] i suppose that works for me since i'll just leave vector as the skin and add custom Common.css on top of it. thanks [14:41:40] Hello, I appear to have somehow denied myself to change my Wiki’s name…and it’s been a misspelling the entire time. Could I have some help with that? [14:42:13] @fohfuu Hi, what's the URL? [14:42:22] https://inryes.miraheze.org [14:42:29] [url] The Land of Inryes | inryes.miraheze.org [14:42:50] It should be Inreys. I have no idea how I didn’t notice this… [14:43:16] I’m the only user on the wiki that’s done anything, Mor [14:43:28] @fohfuu Oh I see, you mean the URL. That can't be changed by users as that requires databases, you need to request a change at https://phabricator.miraheze.org/maniphest/task/edit/form/7/ [14:43:29] [url] Login | phabricator.miraheze.org [14:43:33] *database changes [14:43:53] I can do it right now, though you need to complete the task for transparency reasons and so I can confirm your identity as bureaucrat [14:46:04] Okay, that’s no problem! Thanks [14:48:43] To be quite honest. I also miswrote my email when I signed into Phabricator. The start is correct, it should end in protonmail.com instead of gmail.com [14:49:02] I’m sorry for the trouble. [14:50:06] So I’ll get that fixed first. [14:50:17] no problem [15:01:17] I’ve looked around and I can’t see how to change this. The only option when I’m logged in says I should verify my email, but I can’t do that. The help link redirects to the main Miraheze help page. [15:01:46] are you Mor (Mor)? [15:01:54] Yes [15:02:21] In that case, could you please just leave me a message on my Meta talkpage to confirm it's you and then I'll manually change your email [15:02:31] Sorry for all the extra steps 😦 [15:03:20] Thank you, and sorry for the hassle! I’m happy that security is prioritised ^^ [15:06:17] Done [15:07:52] @fohfuu no problem, please see your DMs for a confirmation [15:12:41] There we go! [15:15:17] @fohfuu Done! https://phabricator.miraheze.org/T8379#169211 [15:15:18] [url] ⚓ T8379 Name change: inryes.wiki > inreys.wiki | phabricator.miraheze.org [15:15:24] please read that as you may have some login issues initially [15:33:05] I'm having trouble after taking those steps, but that might be a weird mobile browser problem. I'll try again later on my laptop :) [18:35:10] hi [18:49:30] when people say things like "on my meta talk page" nowadays you have to wonder if they mean Facebook.. argggg [18:52:27] @mutante, LMAO [20:25:08] Hello Guest6963! If you have any questions, feel free to ask and someone should answer soon. [20:35:16] Hi RhinosF1 (love the name btw), I hope you are doing well. My name is Wyatt Pontius and recently I came across a page on gyaanpidea that appears to be about me (https://en.gyaanipedia.com/wiki/Wyatt_Pontius) despite containing a large amount of out of date or flat out inaccurate information. I was wondering if you had the ability to delete the [20:35:17] page to prevent this misinformation from spreading. Thanks! [20:35:17] [url] Wyatt Pontius - Gyaanipedia | en.gyaanipedia.com [20:35:17] W [20:35:49] Guest6963: looking [20:36:17] thanks [20:38:56] Guest6963: I just spoke to T&S: "information derived from other sources, and the person doesn't fall under GDPR/DPA, so I'm not inclined to act in a T&S" - you'll have to email cvt[at]miraheze.org [20:39:54] sounds good, thanks RhinosF1
