[07:47:46] [discord] How to reset Miraheze username?? [08:37:09] @JestonT [[Special:GlobalRenameRequest]] [08:37:09] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:GlobalRenameRequest [09:39:48] [discord] Ok thx [09:54:50] Hello labster! If you have any questions, feel free to ask and someone should answer soon. [09:59:10] I was thinking about installing Extension:Lockdown on our small wiki, but then I figured out a way to accomplish the same thing with $wgWhitelistReadRegexp. I assume I'd need to submit a PR for that, or do we actually (want to) expose regexps in ManageWiki? [10:07:17] labster: I mean none of them are a particularly good idea [10:07:37] haha true [10:09:00] Do bare in mind that upstream nearly removed the read whitelist because of security concerns [10:09:52] labster: exposing regexes that if you get wrong can make your whole wiki public when you want private to users sounds like a good way for them to screw up, so I'd probably lean on in config if you really want it [10:12:01] So what we really want is a public wiki with a private section so we can write drafts before publishing. [10:12:53] If it leaks, it's not all that big of a deal. It's just fiction. [10:13:20] The idea was just to make a namespace or two read-restricted. And Lockdown is kind of a finely tuned tool when all I really want is a blunt object. [10:13:50] labster: ok, that sounds fine, I'm around most of the day if you want to send a patch [10:14:17] We'll have to do some edits to get it ready for this, so it won't be today, if even this week. [10:14:47] Okay [10:14:49] No problem [10:15:10] The end result will look something like: $wgWhitelistReadRegexp = [ "/(?!(?:Draft:|Hidden:))^./" ]; [10:18:44] negative lookahead because I'm turning a whitelist into a blacklist, naturally. [10:18:45] The alternative we were thinking of was to republish a public version on gitlab pages but that sounds like much more work. [13:15:12] Hello TwilightMisty! If you have any questions, feel free to ask and someone should answer soon. [15:11:27] Wishes i could get onto discord right now [15:12:31] is anyone online? [15:19:59] Cocopuff2018 hum [15:20:02] I think so [16:12:43] @Agent need to work with you on some search engine stuff when you got a chance [16:26:54] Hello Voidwalker! If you have any questions, feel free to ask and someone should answer soon. [19:00:47] [discord] Hi. Someone modified the settings of DPL recently? [19:04:19] [discord] Rhinos? Reception? [19:21:15] @Avengium (Ángel) If you mean the extension, I believe it would've been updated recently yes [19:21:46] [discord] Yes. I mean the extension [19:22:06] [discord] Did you remember tuscriaturas has a CategoryBot that make categories? the category for DPL was made months ago, but in some page appears this category thay is non-existant: [19:22:09] [url] Creación de «Categoría:⧼dpl-parserfunc-tracking-category⧽» - Bestiario del Hypogripho | tuscriaturas.miraheze.org [19:23:08] [discord] So, is the category name migrated to that strange name or is some other thing? [19:42:01] hi [19:44:23] [discord] Can someone explain why Miraheze is so broken as of late? [19:44:31] [discord] What has happened to cause this? [19:44:39] [discord] Importing templates and such mainly [19:44:58] [discord] You used to be able to import templates in bulk not long ago now you can't even import them one at a time [19:45:17] [discord] And when the admins add the templates they are still broken once added [20:13:22] [discord] That is not related to Miraheze or to importing at all. Is because the dependency of templates [20:14:34] [discord] You can make a template just typing on your browser. The code works. If you call to other pages and that pages are not in your web, the template can't make magic [20:20:22] [discord] Wikipedia templates are too complicated to use on other wikis [20:21:03] [discord] and weren't you deleting unsuccessful imports previously? [20:22:01] [discord] Wikipedia templates are too complicated to use on other wikis, me and some other experienced admin would advice to code thing by yourself or import simpler templates from other wikis [20:22:35] [discord] Wikipedia templates are too complicated to use on other wikis, me and some other experienced admins here usually advice people to code things by themselves or import simpler templates from other wikis [21:02:12] [discord] There has been an issue with importing recently as far as I'm aware [21:02:34] [discord] now, if the templates are broken once added and especially if they're from wikipedia, that's another issue
