[00:28:59] Does anyone know which sites have feed channels? [00:29:00] dmehus doesn't [00:29:52] such shade :p [00:30:16] It's double shade, because what I meant by they didn't know is they do know but won't tell me [00:30:30] Anyway, that's not important. What is important is, which sites have feed channels? [00:30:53] like what wikis have an IRC feed? I know Meta, Commons and Dev do [00:32:37] Do an alis search for miraheze-feed-* [00:32:44] Agent : Thanks [00:33:32] And any wiki that wants their own feed can request one [00:33:54] "request"? [00:35:18] Yes [00:35:51] A wiki makes a request, and a Bots volunteer sets it up for them. [00:35:59] Fortunately, people will not have to "request" it soon [00:36:44] Even if it was SRE running it, you would still have to make a request [00:37:36] Fortunately, people will not have to "request" it soon [00:37:43] The only difference now is that SRE don't have to worry about it, and can focus on their other tasks [00:37:45] Also, no [01:26:14] helloooo! [01:26:58] Hello [01:29:53] [discord] greetings [03:14:42] Yeah, though 4 out of 6 staff are also sre [07:36:26] Hello KarolisJurkevici! If you have any questions, feel free to ask and someone should answer soon. [07:39:06] Hello everybody! I'm new here, is this might be a place to ask questions related with my newly created wiki setup? [07:40:07] Yes here is fine [07:45:12] So, first things first. I've just launched new wiki on miraheze farm for my local Red Cross volunteers community and would like to make it private. I would like to let view and contribute registered users only. Like, everybody can edit and see content, except anonymous users. Is it possible without adding all registered users to admin group? [07:49:52] you can change the permissions for the user group but be aware anyone can register [07:53:10] Yeah, I know, but the info there is not that sensitive, most of it may be distributed freely, so I don't think it is an issue for me. [07:58:00] If it's distributed freely, why stop viewing? [07:58:12] You can turn off anon editing easily [08:06:52] There are some pages with personal contact information and stuff related to inside politics of Red Cross. Most of that is not  a secret, but it would be nice to have an option to view, who singed in and have access to that info. [08:09:33] I found some tutorial that says, I must edit LocalSettings.php file to change permissions to user groups, but as a Miraheze user, I don't have access to that file. Am I right? [08:13:05] You can use Special:ManageWiki/permissions to do it [09:26:17] Hello Startus! If you have any questions, feel free to ask and someone should answer soon. [09:33:36] I think, I managed to reach my goal: through "Manage this wiki's core settings" > "Private" i closed the wiki for anonymous access and through "Manage this wiki's permissions" added autopromotion to Members group for everyone, who have their email confirmed... Only that autopromotion doesn't work :). [09:34:49] what do you mean by doesn't work? [09:34:58] Nor existing, nor new users are not promoted to Members and stay as normal users in users list. [09:35:33] Nor existing, nor new users are promoted to Members and stay as normal users in users list.* [09:35:44] Autopromotion is worked out on the fly. They won't be promoted until they actually do something. [09:36:30] But how they can do something if they cannot access wiki? [09:37:42] sorry for dumb questions, but I'm totally new to this. [09:39:22] What about if you reopened the wiki, revoked `read` from the `*` group and reassigned it to the `user` group (thus revoking read access to anonymous users but not logged in users) [09:46:06] KarolisJurkevici: attempting to read should be an action [09:46:28] Oh. Nice then. [09:48:43] i've never tested this [15:26:51] dmehus: re meta, I think the 2 named things are causing confusion [15:26:57] They mention 2FA [15:27:05] Which is OATHAuth [15:27:09] not OAuth [15:34:09] [discord] is it possible their most recent message is changing the topic to 'can I at least use the same 2fa as miraheze on wikimedia?' without the original implication of directly connecting them? [15:34:16] [discord] I'm not entirely sure what he's getting at otherwise [15:35:21] * RhinosF1 doesn't see issue [15:41:24] [discord] no issue at all, I think he's just asking if he can use the 2fa from one platform on the other [15:41:57] Ye
