[00:18:30] [[Special:ManageWiki]] [00:18:30] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:ManageWiki [00:18:30] [00:18:50] wiki theme or personal theme? [00:43:43] I can't seem to find my wiki. [00:44:02] Unless I'm doing somethign wrong? Also just any wiki theme, but how does personal theme btw then? [02:11:48] [1/2] For those who are interested, Miraheze is seeking volunteers who can help us test MediaWiki extensions for the next version coming out later this month, MediaWiki 1.40. If you're well acquainted with how certain extensions work, we invite you to reach out to us and help us test out extensions. A list of extensions being tested out is available at [2/2] T10680> [02:32:47] https://phabricator.miraheze.org/T10680 (reposting link on IRC, as it got cut off in a duel message) [02:39:56] How can I learn about the features? [03:09:06] https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/plugins/gitiles/mediawiki/core/+/master/RELEASE-NOTES-1.40 [03:25:51] Ah fuck I don’t think I can change the theme [03:44:17] If you mean setting a new skin for the wiki, it’s in Special:ManageWiki/settings under the styling tab. If you want to set a skin for yourself, go to Special:Preferences under the appearance tab [03:50:49] make sure you are logged in too [05:05:35] Agent: the cargoRecreateData.php script didn't work apparently :( The replacement table as seen at https://spcodex.wiki/wiki/Special:CargoTables has way too few rows. It should be close to 600 [05:08:01] if I delete it, can you try again once more? I'm wondering if you saw any errors or if maybe you accidentally terminated it or something [05:08:53] I'll comment on the task [05:09:07] musikanimal: according to "4:51 AM !log [agent@mwtask141] sudo -u www-data php /srv/mediawiki/w/extensions/Cargo/maintenance/cargoRecreateData.php --wiki=solarawiki --table releases --replacement (END - exit=0)" it was successful [05:09:47] musikanimal: sure, I can rerun but as CosmicAlpha comments, the command was successful [05:10:33] okay great, I just deleted it so go for it if you don't mind. Thank you! [05:10:40] Running [05:10:49] hoping it works this time, otherwise we apparently have a larger issue! [05:11:01] you can track how it goes on #miraheze-sre [05:11:41] will do [05:13:14] It finished it seems [05:13:20] nooo! so it ended at the same number [05:13:36] maybe there's something with that page in particular that's causing problems. I'll debug [05:14:36] actually, I guess I don't know what page it was *about* to process [05:20:52] Agent: was there no output at all? [05:24:59] looking at the source code it appears to log any errors, and doesn't actually use ->fatalError() so it would always return a 0 exit code (that something that should be fixed, but I digress) [05:26:43] is something you're able to easily check? I was assuming this was ran on a deploy box [05:37:05] https://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/VmGQcCpX/output [05:37:08] musikanimal: ^ [05:37:11] that's the output I got [05:38:25] hmm okay, so not that helpful, lol [05:38:42] I'll read through the code more and try to deduce where it broke [05:43:43] ahh, and the main table is now set to read-only. what the heck [05:47:48] okay, deleting the replacement table made the main table writable again. So I guess Cargo has some knowledge that not all rows have been populated. [08:27:18] The more you beg, the more likely we are to not take action [08:28:06] [1/2] how many times we have to tell that's up to AVID's admins, not global Miraheze admins? [08:28:06] [2/2] this is general server for wiki platform [08:28:52] spamming here does nothing [08:29:04] if anything, people are getting annoyed [08:29:09] Spamming period does nothing [08:29:40] If you were to spam on the AVID server, you'd be banned pretty quickly [08:35:28] I'm not spamming, I'm begging [08:36:20] begging like that is spamming [08:40:39] even more so, since as been pointed out to you before, this is a not a discord server about AVID specifically, but about Miraheze as a whole [10:22:12] It is possible to change one's username? [10:33:10] [[Changing username]] [10:33:10] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Changing_username [10:33:10] [10:34:57] Thanks [10:41:57] Follow up question. is it possible the immediately transfer ownership of a wiki from one account to another? [10:43:41] two accounts of same person? [10:43:48] Yes [10:53:25] Correct. [10:53:38] not sure tbh [10:54:43] The permissions system seems a bit convoluted. I see a lot of stuff about the local roles, but nothing on how to actually go about appointing them [11:21:35] [1/4] The concept of "ownership" doesn't really exist like that. However the requester does get "Bureaucrat" and "Administrator" on creation of their wiki. Administrator can be freely given and taken by someone with Bureaucrat, however Bureaucrat can only be given, not removed, except by stewards (ie. a global MH volunteer role). [11:21:35] [2/4] So thus, if you give Bureaucrat and administrator to another account you effectively made them co-owner, and I guess you could request for a steward to remove Bureaucrat(via [[SN]] ), if you really need to from your original account (best to do it from the original account, as it works as acceptance from that account, otherwise, there would need stro [11:21:35] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/SN [11:21:36] [3/4] ng reasons generally to remove someone else from Bureaucrat, to prevent abuse ofc). [11:21:36] [4/4] Role assignment in general is handled via the page Special:UserRights [11:21:36] [11:22:54] Ah, okay. Thanks [15:07:35] Please explain what happens when you try to go to the website, since AVID has not blocked you (and it looks like you're an admin there?). What is the error message you're getting? Is it when you try to edit or is the site not loading? [15:10:51] No one can help you unless you can give us more information about what the problem is [15:16:11] he was blocked because of his behaviour on another wiki, I recall [15:21:13] how did you know that?! [15:22:08] it was spilled in this very channel man [15:22:49] probably a month ago? [15:30:57] and you've been told to deal w/ this elsewhere before [15:31:38] so please stop bringing this up/spamming here [15:51:28] [1/2] Nikotron, I'm gonna kindly ask for the last time that you stop trying to arbitrate your ban statuses for local wikis on the global Miraheze discord. [15:51:28] [2/2] We've been patient, but further attempts will result in a ban. [17:06:46] I keep getting error messages, what do I put in $wgGoogleSiteVerificationKey, the entirety of `google-site-verification-XXX.htlm` string, the HTML tag, or something else? [17:07:17] The HTML tag but only the hash (the long string of letters) [17:08:06] [1/2] I tried that and got an error, but I'll try again. Maybe it was a cache error. [17:08:06] [2/2] For clarification, `googleNUMBERS` or just the numbers that appear after `google`? [18:04:55] It sounds like you're using the wrong method, you should be using the string found under HTML tag, not the HTML file [18:05:56] [1/3] So like. [18:05:56] [2/3] `` [18:05:57] [3/3] I just put the stuff under "STRING" or the entire message? [18:06:14] The string bit. [18:06:31] [1/2] I actually wrote up a guide for WikiSEO (though it needs a bit of revision), you can find it here: [18:06:31] [2/2] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/User:NotAracham/WikiSEO_-_Improving_Search_Ranking#Setting_up_Google_Search_Console [18:46:41] awless [20:47:08] Hi! I'm not really sure if this is the right place to say this but I just noticed the main page has a very lacking translation in Catalan and, as a native myself, would like to help change that [20:47:11] I don't really know what's the proper way to offer my help to the project so I'll thank any info I am given [20:52:13] By all means! There's no special criteria, though translations will be reviewed internally before they're published to the site. [20:53:25] I'm not as familiar with the translation tools being only passably X-1 outside my native language, but I'm sure our community has a helpful guide or two to get you started [20:53:33] Translations are done via https://translatewiki.net [20:59:30] [1/2] as NotAracham said anyone can translate content of Meta wiki [20:59:31] [2/2] but if you mean MediaWiki interface - that's done via centralised translatewiki, which Agent just linked [21:50:30] slight issue with that: [21:50:40] How to attain permits [21:52:38] nvm figured it out
