[00:02:12] You got lots of addons [00:03:48] Xfce is for people with PC that have extremely low specs [00:08:55] Hell, Gnome is so bad that Pop OS is creating their own Cosmic [00:31:34] Anyone know how I can add a font onto the wiki? [00:38:45] Hi. What's up? [00:44:00] Are you talking to me btw [06:07:18] how do you log into phabricator [06:07:32] normal login does not work [06:14:42] there must be "login w/ mediawiki button", it will tie w/ your Miraheze account [06:16:05] am i missing something obvious? [06:16:24] ! [06:17:06] issue persists on chrome 115.0.5790.170, arm64 m1 mac, 13.2.1 (22D68) [06:17:34] and firefox 116.0.2 [06:18:02] github login doesn't work btw [06:18:27] though this seems intentional [06:18:58] normal login attempt [06:20:00] cc @paladox (seems the update to phabricator-extensions broke the mediawiki OAuth) [06:20:19] and no account associated with the miraheze email when using forgot password. that and the above screenshot don't seem like bugs, just no user in the phabricator db lol [06:20:30] oh :/ [06:20:33] Yeah, there's a missing button [06:21:17] Maybe `"PhabricatorMediaWikiAuthProvider" => "PhabricatorOAuth1AuthProvider"` missing from xmap? [06:21:32] Maybe `"PhabricatorMediaWikiAuthProvider" => "PhabricatorOAuth1AuthProvider"` missing from xmap? [06:21:39] oh! [06:23:19] fixed and pulled [06:23:25] @octopirate does it work now? [06:23:45] wow does it hit production that fast? [06:23:52] fixed [06:23:58] thank you [06:23:58] well i had to do it manually [06:25:01] all working. thanks for the speedy response!! [06:25:24] Thanks for raising the issue, might have been missed for much longer otherwise! [07:00:02] gnome looks way nicer than kde :p [07:21:09] It's using a template, but you don't have to make it as complicated/segmented on your wiki to work the same. Basically it's an image element with text being inside div elements. These text elements have the `position:absolute` style value. You'd need to read a bit about this css property online, but with that you can make such a map yourself [12:41:23] How taxing are lua module calls? I've got a script to take a game's files and get all of the final properties for the stats, localization, etc. and I'd like to use that to make tables and infoboxes. I can either output that directly in the format of a table/infobox (which limits accessibility to other users somewhat) or format it as a list and make a table by calling the module for each row of a table. The most I'd expect on one page is ~100 entries. [12:41:24] Will users notice any significant load time difference? Is there a different way I should do this? [12:45:13] Decided to go with this after all. I’m including a indicator-type link in the top corner of the page to direct users to the joke article. This solves my issue with it being too separate or hidden away. :3 [12:47:57] going to have to rework my characters template since it's broken . [12:53:59] If you already have game data and the alternative is typing/uodating that manually, I'd say go with lua. Especially that you don't plan to go past 100 entries per page [12:55:11] If you want to make it more accessible, code the module in a way that you can control the output with parameters, similarly to a template, and write a documentation for it [12:56:13] That would be the idea. Basically say "hey, I want the name, price, and crafting requirements for smoked ham" and it would return those [12:56:22] And thanks [12:56:32] Lua stats are also visible on page preview when you edit, so you can check those whwn you test the module [12:56:42] Np <:pupCoffeeMH:766487840694599711> [12:56:52] Oh, I hadn't noticed that previously. Will have to look out for that [12:57:24] On regular wikitext page preview on the bottom. It's not there unless you use a module on the page I believe [13:07:05] i had the preview button straight from the start... [13:38:59] Trying to delete a page temporarily and getting this error. Is it possibly related to cargo? [14:34:37] I see! Thank you! [14:59:24] It has been a long time [15:34:42] holy shit it’s the king of Saudi Arabia [15:43:09] Erm i3 supremacy acktually [15:43:38] Or sway [15:44:08] Because X serv is Old [15:56:21] anything but those window tiling things [15:59:54] They're good though they make me feel like a 90s hacker. Just have htop running on the right half of your monitor at all times [16:02:59] whatever floats your boat [16:07:08] i take it that you probably use vim too? [16:10:12] Guh [16:10:22] Uhhh... uhhmmh [gulp] no [16:10:35] Lol I used vim for a while and then I got vscodepilled [16:11:28] I admit that I use the vim keybind extension though so the experience of editing is somewhat similar (though different in annoying little ways) [16:11:38] What do you use? [16:14:06] i use micro but might learn nvim [16:17:24] I've heard good things about the latter [16:17:42] I wonder if anyone has made a truly AI enabled editor yet actually [16:18:42] fellas, sorry, but #offtopic [16:19:01] Oh this is a support channel my bad [18:09:35] how to align something to the right or left of a page? [18:21:43] depends on what you want to align [18:35:07] a template [18:35:29] a template [18:36:22] [1/3] template can be anything lol [18:36:22] [2/3] you talk about infobox? [18:36:22] [3/3] then styling should have `float: left/right;` [18:36:40] this goes for tables and div blocks [18:36:59] infobox, yes... Did it from the scratch... and can't fucking find why it is on the wrong side... [18:36:59] @gkkbestie Watch your language. [18:37:54] thx [18:47:49] and where exactly should I put this? [18:49:22] where you define class/CSS, or inline styling [18:51:32] Uh... in the source editor? [18:52:32] /auth w/ the bot and send link to the template here [18:52:47] I don't like making guesses [18:56:48] did the bot do what it had to? [18:58:02] https://unoriginalgenesis.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Template:Infobox_character&stable=1 [19:02:28] your wiki is private ... [19:02:31] sigh [19:02:52] please make thread in #support and post screenshot of template's source code [19:07:57] done [21:11:38] Is miraheze gonna still terminate itself [21:11:43] Or what js the plan now [21:12:24] The plan is to transfer the assets of the current organization (Miraheze Limited) to a new one in the U.S. (Miraheze Foundation) [21:12:54] Alright [21:12:57] What about the servers [21:13:09] Oh wait [21:13:14] You use third party [21:13:16] My bad [21:13:38] Yeah, the servers are staying where they are (unless Zppix/Labster say otherwise) [21:13:48] Alright [21:13:58] I can continue reviving my wiki then [21:14:01] Thanks [21:14:09] giving that i just made a wiki πŸ™‚ [21:14:21] i hope it stays...it's less restricted than bog standards πŸ˜› [22:12:49] how long does it take for a custom domain request to get filled usually? [22:13:40] likely a week [22:18:52] wow [22:20:11] no automation? [22:20:41] no, but there's currently shortage of volunteers who perform this task [22:20:53] Mirahaze is a volenteer group...automation causes spam risks. [22:20:55] that's why it might take long [22:21:53] ahh, good point [22:22:05] is there any way i could do it myself or need trusted perms? [22:23:59] Not that I'm aware of; changing a wiki's database name (which in turn changes its subdomain) requires manual work that only SRE can do [22:24:35] that makes sense [22:27:07] i wonder if there is a way to have the wiki dark theme as default for everyone. [22:30:31] make it dark in CSS, the dark theme extension will revert it lol [22:31:06] tbh this extension isn't good, if you really wanna use it you'll have to tweak CSS for iy [22:31:58] will do [22:32:16] been converting my stuff from fandom due to the mass amount of ads...so my templates codes tend to be broken 😦 [22:32:37] yeah, thing needs to be activated all around [22:32:52] most notably PortableInfobox and TemplateData [22:33:16] infoboxes will require a dummy edit or cache purge to start working [22:35:06] hmm I'm having a thumbnail problem, only w/ one image, but it's been months and it still doesn't update no matter what I do [22:35:49] got theses random pictures pop up and i had not uploaded any yet πŸ˜„ [22:36:12] ah, for those you need to disable Wikimedia and Miraheze Commons [22:36:20] in aditional setting menu, Media tab [22:37:18] if wiki has files w/ names which are same on those Commons wikis, it will use them - this is handy for things like flag icons, but ideally it's better to give files unique names [22:38:07] i tend to use Unique names plus a small code in case i there are multiable veriants. [22:47:29] hey, do you know if disabling those also removes them from the search results in the visual editor "insert image" search? [22:48:15] I guess? you can try [22:48:30] i can take a look for you. [22:50:33] think i need for cache to refresh since it's putting me in source editor atm. [22:54:09] can you search for something like "book"? [22:56:56] thank you for checking! [22:57:05] No problem. [22:57:27] mine is always filled with commons stuff, was so annoying [22:58:31] yeah removing the Wikimedia and Miraheze Commons should stop it. [23:02:56] yeah it worked! awesome πŸ˜„ [23:06:55] YES fixed 90% of my old templates code πŸ˜„
