[07:46:21] I have an On this day section on my main page. It transcludes a calendar day for every day of the year. It’s on my Lonsdale Battalion wiki. Have a look at the syntax to see if it’s the sort of thing you’re after. [07:54:39] [1/3] ^ same, very much a manual thing, not automated [07:54:40] [2/3] based on Russian Wikipedia's OTD [07:54:40] [3/3] [07:56:51] [1/3] and I use RandomSelection extension from randomly chosen trivia snippets, all had to be stored manually on a source page [07:56:51] [2/3] [07:56:51] [3/3] [08:18:36] [1/3] and featured article, I tried to base it on English Wikipedia, which turned out to be manually stored bits of articles - an image and couple of first paragraphs [08:18:36] [2/3] [08:18:37] [3/3] [08:19:14] formatting was the worst thing here lol [09:39:33] CSS update on our wiki, @/SKL turned portable infoboxes and galleries into candies w/ game accets [13:16:55] The problem is I don’t know how to transclude. [13:40:38] [1/2] if we talk about non-templates, it's just [13:40:38] [2/2] `{{:pagename}}` [13:40:38] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/:Template:pagename [13:57:48] [1/3] my wiki was on miraheze, then it moved to wikitide, and now it's on self hosting [13:57:49] [2/3] mh has better seo and bigger and more active community, sk now i'm thinking of moving back [13:57:49] [3/3] should i do it [14:02:09] tbf wikitide is just too fresh [14:02:17] it needs time [14:02:32] to grow [14:02:46] yea [14:02:50] whenever you should move again - I can't tell [15:53:32] yoo [15:54:02] hi [15:56:32] How can i create infobox, that look like wikipedia infobox in my wiki? [15:59:28] [[User:Legroom/Infoboxes]] [15:59:28] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/User:Legroom/Infoboxes [15:59:29] [16:05:46] yoo this is so snazzy!! [16:18:47] Yeah! [16:19:43] Btw to fix the blurring of lower res pixel art, use `image-rendering: pixelated;` [16:25:00] there was another mode but I forgot which [16:25:49] [1/2] and it's not always pixel stuff in those galleries [16:25:49] [2/2] I guess we can slap some template w/ a class in some cases? [16:26:08] when it's entirely pixel stuff <:ThinkerMH:912930078646730792> [16:26:36] but I tried to test image render in infoboxes before and something went off [16:28:22] also related but - why they're so fucking tiny on Cosmos lol [16:28:46] both desktop and mobile mode [16:36:41] it was w/ crisp, remembered [16:51:05] Wow, looks great! [17:30:42] [1/2] Say, for instance using today's date, I have a page called 29 September and I want to transclude it onto my Main Page in a section called "On this Day", I use magic words which will transclude the current day (29) of the current month (September) like so - {{:{{CURRENTDAY}} {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}}}}. If you are in the US, just reverse and have curr [17:30:42] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/:Template:%7b%7bCURRENTDAY [17:30:43] [2/2] ent month first followed by current day. The magic words are constant on your page, but if you have a page for every day of the year, it will automatically refresh every day. [19:08:58] I use HostDash currently [19:12:02] the wiki isn’t loading for me [19:12:30] is anyone else having this problem [19:30:21] Loads normal for me [19:31:03] seems ok [20:05:09] Anyone else having an issue with Miraheze where it just shows a blank page? [20:06:40] just on load? my wikis load fine [20:07:16] Yep! I am using iOS and am on LTE. [20:08:05] Yep! I wonder why it’s working for you? [20:09:39] considering that only 2 users reporting load problems now, should be more like why isn't loading for you [20:09:57] usually if site is down we get an influx here immideately [20:10:59] I don’t know. I even cleared out my cache and restarted my device (I am trying to access Miraheze from an iPhone). [20:11:26] where are you from? [20:11:35] Virginia. And you? [20:11:40] Russia [20:12:21] I will try it on my computer when I get home and if it’s still blank I will check my browser console. Are you trying to access Miraheze from a computer? [20:12:42] yes, and my adnroid [20:13:02] device usually doesn't play role here [20:13:12] What does it say in the console when you press F12? [20:13:15] network might [20:13:48] Press F12 and go to the Console tab. What shows up in the console? [20:14:21] I too am having problems with this [20:14:35] Every miraheze.org page comes up as white [20:14:43] okaaay [20:15:06] nothing unusual in console, idk why it's important considering it's loading [20:15:58] I just created a support post on this server. I hope they didn’t just abruptly shut down Miraheze! [20:16:02] apple fucked up lol [20:16:08] please [20:16:10] stop [20:16:13] doing this [20:16:39] Sorry! I just created a support post saying there’s a blank page. [20:16:51] I mean the constant doomtalking [20:16:56] coming from you [20:17:03] when it's nothing [20:17:13] it makes you look like an idiot [20:17:14] I tend to get worried easily and think of negatives. [20:17:34] dont let it leak to places you chat in [20:17:45] no offence [20:17:53] OK then! [20:18:00] Are you having the problem on mobile your pc [20:18:19] Loads fine for me on my computer, not on my phone [20:18:27] Mobile. I will try accessing Miraheze on PC when I get home. [20:18:53] it loads on android [20:19:20] anyone else here w/ iphone? [20:19:35] Mobile view looks broken [20:19:41] mobile loads desktop [20:19:52] wait [20:19:59] confirmed mobile is broken [20:20:01] yup [20:20:06] mobile frontend broke [20:20:13] all wikis? [20:20:17] I surf in desktop mode [20:20:41] Looks to have been a patch to mediawiki within the past 3 hours, likely cause [20:20:59] wikipedia must be affected too? [20:21:20] AllTheTropes.org is blank even with desktop, but other wikis don’t have this issue in desktop mode. [20:21:21] nope [20:22:02] wikipedia works fine [20:22:17] hmm [20:22:27] the problem could be minervaneue [20:22:40] What’s that? [20:22:46] Wikipedia and us run a very different deployment schedule [20:22:48] skin [20:22:50] the skin tied w/ mobile mode [20:23:07] but [20:23:16] LOL i got error 500 on allthetropes.org when clicking mobile view [20:23:21] @orduin is aware of the issue. Either him or @paladox will look in due course. [20:23:28] Please just be patient [20:23:34] Maybe there was a botched MediaWiki update, but that doesn’t explain the custom domains issue. [20:23:35] we don't use it, our mobile mode is on cosmos skin (ofc minerva still has to be enabled) [20:24:14] Do you know of any other custom domains that use Miraheze? [20:24:23] publictestwiki.com [20:24:30] that's not the problem [20:24:35] electowiki.org [20:24:46] mobile view gives error 500 which you cant see on mobile [20:25:33] I think AllTheTropes’ custom domain is down if it’s giving 500s. [20:25:41] its not the only one [20:26:09] A few other custom domains work when you use the desktop site! [20:26:12] please let people work on it and dont panic innocents [20:26:24] desktop site works, mobile does not, do you understand that? [20:26:25] Please be patient and let people work on it [20:26:40] Things are broken, people are looking, it will be fixed. [20:26:44] OK! [20:27:20] Yep! [20:27:30] what you're doing causes unnecessary stress for the record [20:27:51] Sorry! [20:32:53] An update is being deployed to MobileFrontend which should fix the issue [20:33:32] yeah thats what i mean [20:36:03] Just checked on desktop; it works for me1 [20:38:18] please, we already established this [20:43:15] things should be resolved now [20:43:24] if things are still failing for you please let us know [20:44:47] it works <:pupCoffeeMH:766487840694599711> [20:45:32] Fixed for me [20:45:34] Woooooo [20:50:33] cheers [20:50:35] fixed [20:50:55] @paladox what was the problem? [20:51:14] an update to MW required some changes to extensions [20:51:33] i didn't upgrade MobileFrontend or TextExtract it seems. [20:56:45] ah [20:56:49] happens i guess [20:57:23] miraheze update cadence is mw lts as they come out? and extensions for that mw version? [22:08:12] he was just saying it works for him [22:08:17] no big deal [22:10:09] the desktop mode status was already mentioned as working [22:21:09] [1/2] Hi, I am wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction here. I am trying to restore a deleted wiki. I have recreated the wiki (classicrp dot miraheze). I submitted a request to have the wiki restored from an archive.org backup file. The request says complete (459 in the import requests queue) but I don't see any difference on the wiki. Can anybody see what the problem [22:21:10] [2/2] might be, or know if there is an easier way to restore from an archive.org file like this? [22:51:12] [1/2] was this just deployed, because in the last hour or smt - the link to toggle the mobile view is in Punjabi lol? or is it something else? only happens when logged in :) [22:51:12] [2/2] if it is, it’s fine, I just panicked because I thought someone was editing my wiki somehow
