[12:34:32] so, I use a really old browser (for usability reasons) but wikidata and all other wikis undr media wiki worked fine. up until this/last week ago and suddenly it's like no javascript is loaded. this makes editing kinda difficult. is there a code implementation blog or something? i can't see anything in the browserconsole, it literally only says "class is a reserved identifier content.js:1:60" which seems like it should do much [12:34:52] is there any other place I can ask for help on this? [12:35:25] it seems ot be every wiki [12:36:26] tried all the usual, turn of scripts/plugins, etc [12:36:31] refresh, restart [13:02:06] CatQuest: I suspect javascript support for your browser has been removed from MediaWiki by this issue https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T178356 [13:02:16] see also https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Compatibility#Browsers [13:02:55] I doubt you'll have much luck trying to get it restored. This was an intentional change because supporting old JS implementations is a huge pain [16:50:41] thanks for info russss [16:50:51] and dang [16:54:00] CatQuest: in terms of a “code implementation blog” you asked for – I think Tech News might be the closest thing; this was announced in https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tech/News/2023/14 [16:54:19] oh cheers!
