[03:25:27] bd808 I gave some thought to our conversation yesterday about working on the bastions vs working on a pod. If there [03:26:05] is a better way of doing something, I'm always willing to give it a shot. [03:27:01] I did a bit of experimenting and searching through the mailing list archives to refresh my memory about the last time I looked at this. [03:28:00] The killer problem is described in https://lists.wikimedia.org/hyperkitty/list/cloud@lists.wikimedia.org/thread/JKMBQLAAXKBGQTFZ6A6TQOUKSXIGBUXT/#UP74KTCKXEXO3TETG576CL6OMRLZ4KHC [03:29:10] I would appear that you can't run git on a pod host. So, it looks like there's no single place I can do everything. I have to run git on the bastion and I have to build my venvs on the pods. [03:29:30] That's awkward. [03:30:18] git works fine [03:30:21] just not ssh [03:30:35] But given that I run git much more often than I update my venv, it makes sense to do most of my work on the place where I can run git. [03:30:48] git over http? [03:31:03] yes [03:31:50] hmmm, that's not so bad. [03:32:26] I need to think on this. [03:35:49] The contol-p issue I did manage to find a work-around for. I forget the details, but I've got a keyboard remapping configured somewhere that makes that work.
