Can someone help me with a pywikibot minor problem? [12:20:28] [12:20:29] The instructions here (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Pywikibot/replace.py) say [12:20:31] [12:20:32] ''...These two methods may be combined; however, some parameters stored in the fix will overwrite corresponding parameter given in command line.'' [12:20:34] [12:20:35] The said combination is what I'm using in my pywikibot but it won't let me run the script in Toolforge because I haven't specified a summary in my script. The problem is that I don't want to specify a summary because all my fixes have their own summaries. The crude hack I found for this is to specify a random summary anyway because it will get overwritten by the fixes one but thi [12:20:37] s feels really crude. Is there a way to say to the summary parameter that I want it empty or to not worry about it because it has been specified in the individual fixes? [12:35:17] For a more practical approach, this is the script I'm talking about: https://pastebin.com/Rpgt92r2 (re @Klein: Hello! Can someone help me with a pywikibot minor problem? I added that functionality to Striker's toolinfo v1.2 export, but I need to rework some of the v1.2 generation because it is currently too slow (504 gateway timeout because envoy gives up waiting). [14:46:09] @Klein: If nobody responds to your pywikibot question here, you might try the #pywikibot irc channel or the pywikibot@lists.wikimedia.org mailing list. [15:05:00] @bd808, I would but I worried that I wouldn't be able to express myself clearly enough in any of those mediums given that they don't provide the dynamic style Telegram-like mediums provide. If someone can refactor my question in a way that I can easily ask it in a mailing list, I'd be grateful. I lack the technical jargon to easily express what I want to express in this case. [15:05:01] [15:05:02] Thank you anyway! Always helpful. :) [15:06:23] IRC is a chat system. It's Telegram without a fancy UI or memory basically. [15:09:33] Eh, the memory part is where I personally get really scared. I've tried in the past asking something there only to leave after 10 minutes and being forever ignorant to the fact if I ever got an answer back or not. I suck at IRC in general and its ethics. But I'll try it again there before going for the mailing list. [15:46:07] legoktm: actually I fibbed. I *thought* about adding the hosted git repo in the v1.2 output but I actually did not yet. A Phabricator project created via Striker is a similar thing that could be added automagically. [15:47:26] There are some open questions too though. What if there are multiple git repos? What if there are multiple toolinfo records attached to the tool account? I added some degrees of freedom here in the past that make things a bit ambiguous. [16:12:42] ack, I'll manually add in the gitlab links for now [16:13:22] I guess I should take the opportunity to just do it in toolhub directly [20:29:57] !log quarry repo moved to github https://github.com/toolforge/quarry [20:30:00] Logged the message at https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Nova_Resource:Quarry/SAL [20:30:10] !log quarry master branched moved to main [20:30:11] Logged the message at https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Nova_Resource:Quarry/SAL [21:39:36] !log tools.whois-referral Hard stop + start.
