[13:57:30] [13:57:31] Recently my laptop broke down. In it I had saved my scratch codes for Wikitech/Toolforge 2FA. Now I have a new device but I can't access my account in those sites because of 2FA. I was able to disable 2FA for my Wikipedia (et al) account by contacting Trust & Security. What do I do about the Wikitech/Toolforge accounts? Do I write back to T&S? [15:34:40] Klein: There's a process that starts with a phab ticket. Let me find you a link... [15:35:14] I think this is what you want: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Password_and_2FA_reset#For_users [15:35:16] Make sense? [15:35:31] If course that presumes you didn't also lose your ssh keys :/ [15:50:25] @andrewbogott, thank you for the link! I believe I unfortunately don't have access to my SSH private key. I'm not totally sure but I believe I had it saved only on the laptop that broke down. Can't I verify my identity in a more traditional way? Like, with an ID card, email or something similar? I use my real name almost everywhere (and I even have photos of myself on Commons bec [15:50:25] ause of my wiki-mentoring activities). [15:51:29] Klein: I'm not actually sure what we've done in that case but I'm sure it can be done. I don't suppose there's any WMF staff who would recognize you on a video call? [15:51:58] I need to go in a minute but please open a phab ticket about the reset and then we'll figure something out. [16:01:14] @andrewbogott, well, yes and no. Technically everyone can see my face and correlate it with the photos I have on my Wikipedia user page (SqWiki) or any other commons photo uploaded by me but I haven't had the chance to meet anyone from WMF personally in this decade that I've been active on Wikimedia. [16:01:15] [16:01:16] I'll go on with the phab-request tomorrow. Thank you one more time! :)) [17:39:04] !log puppet-diffs added myself to project admins [17:39:11] Logged the message at https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Nova_Resource:Puppet-diffs/SAL [21:09:38] Neither I believe, only an accidental creation. I now disabled it via toolsadmin. Thanks for reminding me! (re @bd808: @JeanFred is https://toolsadmin.wikimedia.org/tools/id/a something that you are still planning on using, or just an old namesqua...) [21:12:10] I made https://disabled-tools.toolforge.org to show all of the tools that are disabled and still pending deletion.
