[01:11:51] hi all. trying to migrate my tool from grid to k8s. I use a script that automatically emails me the stderr output of my tool if it fails. what are the alternatives for k8s? I understand that it automatically logs stderr to a file, but I want to email it so I don't have to log in every time something fails [02:11:14] The easy way would be to not use such a script and instead just add "- - email onfailure" to your main script (tool). That way, if that fails you'll get an email on failure, I believe with the reason it failed as well. (re @wmtelegram_bot: hi all. trying to migrate my tool from grid to k8s. [02:12:21] You can read more about that here: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Toolforge/Jobs_framework#Job_email_notifications [05:31:11] @Klein no I tried that, it doesn't include stderr output unfortunately [10:14:52] Ah... I've yet to receive such an email myself but I expected it to include it. Maybe someone else can help then you. Try sending your current script set up so people will get an idea on how to "convert" it. [10:47:29] it uses `exim` which isn't available in k8s [11:02:29] !log wikistats starting emergency deployment [11:02:32] Logged the message at https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Nova_Resource:Wikistats/SAL [11:09:25] !log wikistats deployed 4e79f706 (https://gitlab.wikimedia.org/cloudvps-repos/wikistats/-/merge_requests/7) for T354101 [11:09:29] Logged the message at https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Nova_Resource:Wikistats/SAL [11:09:29] T354101: Wikistats is using a malformed user agent - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T354101 [14:48:08] When I ssh into one of my VPS instances, I get "Connection closed by UNKNOWN port 65535" [14:48:26] Before I reboot the thing, any idea what might be going on? I've been playing with opensearch on it. I must have configured it in some way that it's not happy.
