Cloud VPS metrics question (namely for beta cluster, statsv) — I was aware of https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/News/2023_Cloud_VPS_metrics_changes, and noted that `graphite-labs.w` was shut down. I'm using statsv (i.e. `mw.track(...)`) for some temp metrics. My re-read of the metrics changes is starting to suggest that these aren't available anywhere (i.e. they won't appear in `prometheus.wmcloud.org` [11:03:27] *) [11:03:47] Am I correct? Is there a way of seeing statsv metrics on the beta cluster? [11:10:16] TheresNoTime: depends on how the beta cluster statsv service is configured, I guess. we don't really have any idea about that :-) [11:10:34] but if it was sending things to graphite-labs, then yes, most likely they're being sent to a void (or are logging loud errors somwhere) [11:11:05] I believe it was, though I'll try to confirm [11:28:28] taavi: you wouldn't happen to know where that's normally configured would you? [11:29:12] TheresNoTime: this is my first time hearing about statsv so nope, sorry [11:29:25] ah, thank you anyway :) [13:32:54] !log tools remove toolschecker alerts for grid engine jobs T358333 [13:32:59] Logged the message at https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Nova_Resource:Tools/SAL [13:32:59] T358333: Remove toolschecker grid engine checks - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T358333 [13:43:57] !log tools.toolschecker-k8s-ws disabled tool [13:44:00] Logged the message at https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Nova_Resource:Tools.toolschecker-k8s-ws/SAL [13:44:13] !log tools.toolschecker-ge-ws disabled tool [13:44:15] Logged the message at https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Nova_Resource:Tools.toolschecker-ge-ws/SAL [14:08:25] Is it possible to run a job once the database dump is ready for a wiki? It should be possible to code a job that starts `@daily`, checks for a particular file's existence, and either exit or process the file depending on that test as one approximation for the missing feature.
