[10:18:53] I'm having trouble connecting to my Trove instance (tdlqt33y3nt.svc.trove.eqiad1.wikimedia.cloud) for the project mwcurator. I've tried rebooting it. Horizon says it's "Status: Active / Operating Status: Active". I'm connecting from a cloud VPS box. [10:19:32] the database apparently ran out of space or something similar, and I was trying to "TRUNCATE TABLE" to the 45 GB table, but the connection dropped and now I can't reconnect [10:34:52] I tried rebooting it again but still can't connect [18:26:37] audiodude: I would guess that that drive is so full that there's no room to even start up mysql. I will see if I can resize it a bit [18:29:34] I assume we're talking about the db in mwoffliner? There is no mwcurator project as far as I can tell [20:44:05] audiodude: I think I have your DB running again, please ping me here (by name) if it's still not working for you and I'll try again. [23:25:07] yes it's working again now, thanks! Any ideas how I can complete my "TRUNCATE TABLE ..." command without running out of disk? Shall I just try it again? [23:25:43] sorry yes, the machine is mwcurator, the project is mwoffliner. Got them confused [23:25:56] audiodude: I resized and expanded it by 10G so probably there's room to truncate now [23:25:59] I hope :) [23:26:06] great I'll try now thanks! [23:26:35] is that a quota increase? We can definitely give it back after we truncate [23:27:25] this reminds me of filling up my disk on Linux so much that I can't even run bash to delete things, lol [23:27:56] oh the truncate worked, amazing! [23:29:10] great! [23:29:38] Reducing the quota isn't really meaningful since you can't really shrunk a volume, only grow it. So you'll just have to live with a slightly bigger quota :)
