[07:56:59] Emperor: what is the main tag you use for your work? [07:57:49] I am trying to fix https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/manage/4996/ [07:58:14] is it SRE-swift-storage ? [08:01:39] if updated it to https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/profile/4996/ hopefully it is accurate [08:03:01] s/if/I/ [08:03:51] I think I don't have to add MediaWiki-libs-Rdbms because I think we don't own that [08:04:32] jynus: yeah, swift things get tagged sre-swift-storage [08:04:55] trying to include you as part of the team, that page wasn't updated in a long time [08:05:27] we may want to review also the wikitech docs [08:06:33] I will try to do a review but it will be a best effort thing, please call me out if I say something wrong [08:08:41] e.g. https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=SRE&diff=2082326&oldid=2077233 [08:10:40] I will seek Eric's thoughts later too [08:23:11] I updated https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/SRE/Data_Persistence too [08:23:23] TY [08:24:34] I have a question for you- assuming resources and priority tasks were not an issue, how likely would you be researching moving to ceph? [08:25:23] lolsob [08:26:15] Ahem, more seriously, the oft-delayed plan is for the MOSS pilot system to run Ceph. It's kindof an open secret that I think in the medium term we should migrate off swift to Ceph (or maybe some newer better thing) [08:26:57] so the idea wouldn't be moving to Ceph, but mobing away from swift, in an ideal world? [08:27:02] *moving [08:39:56] yes; currently the only plausible candidate to move to is Ceph (which I've had good experiences of), but I'd also like to make it so moving on to some subsequent future storage solution was easier too [08:41:08] 👍
