You can help expand/improve this page by adding more relevant information. [01:49:22] [01:49:23] Lastly, the deadline to fill out the feedback survey form is May 31st. Here is the link: https://wikimediafoundation.limesurvey.net/196151. Thank you! [03:53:01] @lucaswerkmeister: FWIW SecureLinkFixer is already calling wfParseUrl() for every URL, so that ship has sailed. But that runs in a different hook than SpamBlacklist. If it ends up being two slow to call twice, could rework the hooks and how URLs are stored internally to cut down on parsing time [03:54:54] https://viewfromthewing.com/american-airlines-goes-after-hidden-city-ticketing-new-revenue-raising-initiative/ [03:54:55] https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/feb/16/hidden-city-travel-discount-loophole-airlines-crack-down-lawsuit-skiplagged [03:54:56] [03:54:58] or they can change itinerary. you're not buying a ticket to your actual destination, you're buying a ticket to a different place. if weather or another reason causes you to be rebooked they can send you to the place you said you wanted to go to by a different route. (re @tehreedy: And as this is usually against airlines T&Cs… they can reprice your ticket..) [08:52:29] Sam is not only an advanced MediaWiki hacker, but also and advanced airline hacker! [08:52:29] My only advice would be: Book early when the tickets are cheap, but that ship has sailed for Wikimania [09:18:11] I was wondering if these were leftovers. For some reason handing out USB sticks at a conference feels very early 2010s 😅 (re @lucaswerkmeister: I’ve now tested the USB stick at home from a live system, and as best I can tell (lsusb), it’s just an unpartitioned+unformatted...) [09:54:22] I booked with the Travel team. have to have check in luggage since the electronics takes up most of space in my carry-on. (re @skrpnk: was it Scoot airline? sometimes they offer much cheaper flights to KL through Singapore than direct flights to Singapore. if you...) [13:33:54] fyi, a brief conversation with @dpriskorn at the hackathon led me to change some of my wikibase bots from Wikidata Integrator to https://github.com/LeMyst/WikibaseIntegrator, and I am very happy with the migration! [13:33:55] I thinks this is one nice intangible: if I was not face to face, I would not see how much Dennis was excited with this new lib, and would not have invested the time to change the workflow [13:57:28] Happy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geek_Pride_Day y'all [14:01:15] heh 'día del orgullo friki' [18:10:12] Has no one mentioned Towel Day, or did I miss it? [18:10:50] (I didn't mention it till because there's another holiday in my country and I'm terribly busy with that.) [19:16:33] My Android updates the Commons app :) [19:16:53] An outcome of the Hackathon? :) [21:28:34] Hi all, I just had a positive Covid self test. Symptoms are very mild (very light cold symptoms). I may have caught it at the hackathon but also before or after - I went to my workplace recently too, and took public transport and flights like most. I just hope I didn’t infect anyone here. Do keep an eye if you develop any symptoms yourself
