[05:55:56] A quiet result of the Hackathon in Greece: [05:58:36] On translatewiki.net, there's a group of projects called "Extensions used by Wikimedia - Main". In case the name is not clear, it includes translatable messages from MediaWiki extensions that are the most important on Wikimedia projects: MobileFrontend, WikiEditor, VisualEditor, Cite, Wikibase Client, Echo, etc. It has about 5900 messages. [05:59:49] Before the Hackathon, about 50% of those messages were translated into Greek (I checked and unfortunately didn't write the precise number, but ). Now that number is 73%. [06:00:20] That's because I spoke to some Greek people there, and they found more translators, and they are actually working and translating. [06:00:35] That's it, now it's not quiet :) [10:35:27] am I missing something or is cssjanus not being applied to the css for codex? [10:41:09] Hi Lucas, [10:41:09] Great post, would you like to share it on https://wmhack2023.github.io too? [10:41:11] Maybe full text mentioning that this is a clone from your blog, or a summary with a link to your full text. It could be king of nice if all posts regarding wmhack2023 could be reachable via a single source. (re @lucaswerkmeister: I just published a blog post about my hackathon experience: https://lucaswerkmeister.de/posts/2023/06/03/wikimedia-hackathon-202...) [10:44:34] Thanks for mentioning Amir!! [10:44:35] We have a follow up event (the 2nd Ionian Wikithon) at the Ionian University and one of the tasks that we offered our students to work on was translations! [14:14:25] Hmm, if you go to a user page with a double namespace, like [[User:User:Jhsoby]], there are (unexpectedly, to me) functioning links to that user's Special:Contributions, Special:EmailUser, etc. Is this a feature or a bug? [17:10:43] It sure feels like it [17:17:47] I’ve removed the message on Telegram. [18:10:44] Interesting, I always thought Greek is a major language, but judging from that 50% stat it looks like barely anyone speaks it. Good that some Greek speakers were digged up while in Anthens indeed :) (re @amire80: Before the Hackathon, about 50% of those messages were translated into Greek (I checked and unfortunately didn't write the preci...)
