[03:04:47] fixed: https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Wikidata:Tools/For_programmers&diff=prev&oldid=1923290717 [09:37:55] does anyone know under which circumstances loading cross-site third-party resources is currently allowed on WMCS? [09:38:02] https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikitech:Cloud_Services_Terms_of_use#5._Limited_use_of_third-party_resources_allowed is extremely vague and https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikitech:Cloud_Services_Cross_Site_Policy and empty placeholder [17:09:41] lucaswerkmeister: Nope! [17:11:40] It is currently impossible to comply with that section of the ToU [17:11:50] because it does not exist [17:12:48] however, the status quo was "please don't" [17:56:02] then I guess I should go file a task for the tool that does [21:03:21] What do you plan to load? Some libraries are copied to get around this problem (re @lucaswerkmeister: does anyone know under which circumstances loading cross-site third-party resources is currently allowed on WMCS?) [21:10:27] I don’t plan to load anything, I found another tool that loads external resources and wanted to know if that’s okay or not [21:10:31] but nevermind T337205 already exists [21:11:40] Unfortunately plenty of tools and wiki's do that. I recall Timo doing clean up every once in a while. [21:14:42] https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Third-party_resources_policy (re @lucaswerkmeister: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikitech:Cloud_Services_Terms_of_use#5._Limited_use_of_third-party_resources_allowed is extr...) [21:44:13] I don't think the cloud services are considered production websites [21:50:44] Well, pretty much anything that makes a browser load a non-Wikimedia resource without the explicit consent of the user is not okay. At least that is the idea, what is in the actual policies I don't remember [22:36:40] well, the third-party resources policy is about loading third-party resources from production sites, if cloud services are considered third-party resources then that particular policy doesn't say what is and isn't allowed for cloud services [22:37:15] reading the page a bit more, it seems cloud services are considered third-party resources, since there's a bit which says "If the third-party resource is hosted on Wikimedia Cloud Services code"
