[00:13:03] Wikimedia content is already well on its way (two decades in) to supporting the most widely spoken languages in the world. The vast majority of our expenses already go to this. I would argue we can walk and chew gum at the same time. Our investment in multimedia beyond the most basic audio and video is minimal. (re @harej: Sure, but say you had $1 million, and you could spend it [00:13:04] on making Wikipedia available in languages spoken by a billion people, ...) [10:50:37] I’m struggling to increase the CPU and Memory limit for my Toolforge webservice. Whenever I try to write “webservice --cpu” or “webservice --mem” to set a new limit, I get errors (either “expected one argument” or “the following arguments are required: ACTION, …”). Is there something I’m missing in the instructions on wikitech? 🤔 [10:51:35] which exact command are you trying to use? [10:53:19] I tried webservice --mem 4Gi, among other things [10:55:50] you still need to specify an action (`start`, `restart`, ...), so a complete command would be something like `webservice --mem 4Gi start` [10:57:42] Oh, got it! Thanks! [10:58:36] it might also be helpful to set up a service.template file so you do not have to specify --mem every time you start the tool: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Toolforge/Web#Webservice_templates [11:10:03] Yes, makes sense, thanks a lot! 🙂
