I wanted to share what I’ve learned, in case it helps clarify things for anyone else. While we don’t know exactly when it will happen, many scientists agree that such an event is likely at some point. While it’s good to know the building withstood that previous earthquake, the expected future event is estimated to be between 7.2–7.6 magnitude and 15–20 km from the venue so conditions could be different.
