[03:30:42] Hello, that migh nott be the best channel to discuss the topic, so if you feel like there is a better place to launch this topic, please let me know. [03:30:43] So first a bit of context: after releasing a big evolution of https://eo.wiktionary.org/wiki/Aldono:Pri_antonimoj I am now looking to the path to make its references work properly. [03:30:44] Indeed, I conducted these big changes on a copy I made on https://fr.wikiversity.org/wiki/Utilisateur:Psychoslave/Aldono:Pri_antonimoj because I knew on that wiki I could rely on available tools to make visual edition and auto-generate formated references. I didn't wan't to go with the struggle of making all that be in place before I could move on with the [03:30:44] actual goal of the page itself. [03:30:46] Fast foward, I copied back the result in the original location, with now more than 300 references. As they where formated using instance specific templates which have all kind of multiple Scribunto module dependencies, this breaks. [03:30:47] My account on this wiki don't have mass import credential, so I started to copy/paste one page after an other, templates and modules. I am still on my way to finish through that path. That doesn't feel great for many reason: it breaks traceability history, it doesn't make a great fit to have all kind of Frenchglish template/module in some Esperanto project, [03:30:47] obviously it's disconn [03:30:49] ected from future evolution of original templates/modules. [03:30:51] So I was wondering, where are we with cross-site template/module invokation? [03:31:09] Also, what's the process I should move through to enable visual editor on https://eo.wiktionary.org/? 🙏 [03:41:35] And do we have efforts ongoing to ease that kind of cross-site migration with less issues on things as fundemental as references? Wikicite comes to my mind, but I'm not sure what it's the status of the project currently, and if it would actually help in anyway here as I guess it would still possibly require many templates/modules dependencies for each wiki [03:41:35] instance. [09:18:53] VE is enabled on all WMF wikis - https://eo.wiktionary.org/wiki/Vikivortaro:%C4%88efpa%C4%9Do?veaction=edit (re @psychoslave: Also, what's the process I should move through to enable visual editor on https://eo.wiktionary.org/? 🙏) [09:29:13] Neng [09:29:23] mending periksa kesehatan di puskesmas nagreg apa cicalengka? [11:29:49] Great, maybe my memory is doing it wrong, but I thought when I tried to use https://eo.wiktionary.org/wiki/Aldono:Pri_antonimoj?veaction=edit it failed, or maybe I simply mistyped the parameter name, like `vaction` instead of `veaction`. I'll check in the wiki local user configuration, but in other wiki I do have the two option between code and visual edition. [11:30:41] There are.. some config options (user preference maybe?) and site config about defaults, tabs etc, depending on the specific issues [11:32:38] Also, I don't know if it's a plugin or something else, but on wikipedia/wikiversity, to add references there is possibility to generate the formated reference just by dropping a URL, OID, SSN… I'm wondering why it's not enabled everywhere? [11:33:46] https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Citoid/Enabling_Citoid_on_your_wiki possibly? [11:34:03] I think some customisation is needed, so it's not a default on [11:36:06] I think I already have it set on global level : https://tools-static.wmflabs.org/bridgebot/cc8aadef/file_74284.jpg [11:38:07] I should go back at https://translatewiki.net/ for missing strings at some point I guess [11:38:34] :)
