[14:32:07] @BeeBee_P hi, I’ve sent an email at the hackathon address on March 20th and I’m still waiting for a reply [14:54:18] We are waiting for confirmation from the WMF travel team to be able to respond to part of your question. Once we have that, we can respond. (re @val_cio: @BeeBee_P hi, I’ve sent an email at the hackathon address on March 20th and I’m still waiting for a reply) [15:57:47] Does anyone know if the WikiVerifyBot is actually working atm? [15:59:13] the telegram bot did an action in the channel 3 mins ago (re @tehreedy: Does anyone know if the WikiVerifyBot is actually working atm?) [15:59:24] I guess I mean the web form or whatever it displays [15:59:36] Silvia (who I accidentally banned and re-joined) is getting a form with a broken button [15:59:39] or group. I can never get the telegram lingo straight. [15:59:47] aha idk (re @tehreedy: I guess I mean the web form or whatever it displays) [16:00:45] I think I accidentally just removed Silvia [16:01:11] add them again? [16:01:41] They show to be still in here for me, but that might be a sync issue [16:04:00] @espejolento 👋 [16:09:26] yaaay! I finally have a voice, FYI I couldn't do the `wikitelegram.toolforge.org` verification process with the Ecosia browser, only Firefox worked :) (re @jeremy_b: @espejolento 👋) [16:10:17] ahhh [16:10:50] The maintainers of the tool is in here... my mind is just blanking on their username [16:12:47] could it be @albertoleoncio? (re @tehreedy: The maintainers of the tool is in here... my mind is just blanking on their username) [16:13:00] based on: https://github.com/albertoleoncio/wikitelegram [16:13:18] Almost certainly.. Yet my telegram autocomplete would not find their username looking for `@al` 🤦‍♂️ [16:14:07] different route, same place [16:14:08] https://toolhub.wikimedia.org/tools/toolforge-wikitelegram (re @espejolento: based on: https://github.com/albertoleoncio/wikitelegram) [16:14:39] me neither! I had to go to the pinned messages, open the profile and check if it was the same username... funny, any idea why? (re @tehreedy: Almost certainly.. Yet my telegram autocomplete would not find their username looking for @al 🤦‍♂️) [16:15:10] Do you want to file an issue for it? https://github.com/albertoleoncio/wikitelegram/issues [16:15:12] `@alb` works for me [16:21:31] I hate technology : https://tools-static.wmflabs.org/bridgebot/419e439c/file_78836.jpg [16:22:19] maybe different client software? [16:22:47] what a broad brush 🤔 [16:23:23] https://tools-static.wmflabs.org/bridgebot/f98257cb/file_78837.jpg [16:28:41] I'm using the macos desktop client (Telegram, not Telegram Lite)... [16:29:44] I'm on https://f-droid.org/packages/org.forkgram.messenger [16:29:56] we should compare to web version [18:09:58] I just tried it with this browser, and it worked for me. weird... (re @espejolento: yaaay! I finally have a voice (ty @tehreedy for your guidance) FYI I couldn't do the wikitelegram.toolforge.org verification pr...) [18:11:39] Based on the screenshot Silvia sent me via DM, it looked like the button/image wouldn't load, but obviously completely unclear why [18:12:49] The Telegram button? [18:13:27] Yeah, it looked like embedded crashed tag [18:13:49] https://tools-static.wmflabs.org/bridgebot/f8e486c1/file_78843.jpg [18:14:12] And then one (incognito?) without even any apparent placeholder [18:21:17] This box comes directly from Telegram, based on their JavaScript code. It could be anything, like their servers blocking access, or the browser having some strange privacy preference blocking the JavaScript from loading. Hard to say... (re @tehreedy: Yeah, it looked like embedded crashed tab) [21:19:23] @espejolento someone else just mentioned that they've been having this problem, it sounds like the solution that worked for you was to do the complete the authentication using a Firefox browser? (re @espejolento: yaaay! I finally have a voice (ty @tehreedy for your guidance) FYI I couldn't do the wikitelegram.toolforge.org verification pr...) [23:18:49] right. or I guess chrome should work too. and we can make manual exceptions. (re @BeeBee_P: @espejolento someone else just mentioned that they've been having this problem, it sounds like the solution that worked for you...)
