[16:14:37] hey folks. i got this question from a colleague, and i have absolutely no idea, so i'm hoping one of you might be able to suggest something :) [16:14:39] > Do you know if it's possible to find any stats or data around content gap on transgender issues on Wikipedia? I'm working on putting something together for Trans Day of Remembrance. [17:02:45] @kormat good question. I think the best place is Humaniki, which allows you to break out gender representation for each wikimedia project ( https://humaniki.wmcloud.org/gender-by-language ). note that the UI is a bit tricky for this but you'd click on "Other Genders breakdown" and then select the columns you're interested in adding. It's taken directly from Wikidata so that's how the gender labels and counts are determined. [17:02:46] Documentation ( https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Humaniki ). As for research on these gaps, there are only two papers I know of (both from the same group but with good methodological rigor): https://arxiv.org/abs/2101.00078 and https://arxiv.org/abs/2010.10820 [17:03:19] hope that helps! [17:22:15] @kormat adding to isaacj, there has been some work on quantifying gaps related to LGBTQ+ topics as part of the Wikipedia Cultural Observatory https://wdo.wmcloud.org/lgbt+_gap/ [17:22:59] I mean the Wikipedia Diversity Observatory https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_Diversity_Observatory [18:10:48] isaacj, mgerlach: thanks! <3 [19:14:35] happily!
