[14:55:23] hey folks, is T293425 something that affects this team at all? [14:55:34] sorry, wrong ticket [14:55:43] T242825 [14:55:44] T242825: Deal with Google Chrome User-Agent deprecation - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T242825 [14:58:50] cbogen_: thanks for the heads up, I don't think so but Erik would know better [15:00:17] cool, ebernhardson if you could let me know that would be great, thanks! [15:13:29] probably breaks the sessionization for the data that feeds mjolnir [15:13:34] also, \0 ;) [15:13:59] i mean, the sesionization will be ok, its (ip+ua). It just becomes ip only, which means some schools all become one user and get thrown out :) [15:14:22] 0/ :D [15:14:27] do we need to make some tickets to address it? [15:14:45] bah, i can't type yet this morning :P [15:14:53] o/ [15:15:19] cbogen_: i don't know we can do anyting to address it. It's a fingerprint of the user, the fingerprint will be weaker. That's kinda the whole point. We could try to make a strong fingerprint, but we intentionally don't [15:15:29] makes sense [18:45:41] Does anybody know if when the search metrics dashboard is pulling `num_fulltext_sessions`, etc for commons, if that's from Special:Search on commons or mediaSearch? I assumed it was for MediaSearch at first, but Carly brought up this may not be the case [18:59:14] mpham: we'de probably need to confer with cchen, the dashboard data is coming from a table in hive (search_dashboard_data.fulltext_funnel_counts) that does some pre-aggregation but i'm not finding how that dataset is created [19:02:44] mpham: I just took a look and I'm pretty sure it's pulling from Special:Search and not MediaSearch. Search sessions are about 1.2k/day on the search engagement dashboard, and on the Commons Search dashboard, that corresponds with Special:Search sessions whereas MediaSerch sessions are around 120k/day [19:03:44] ok thanks. And you mentioned that there's no way of measuring Search engagment on mediasearch right now? [19:03:49] or something equivalent [19:04:22] yeah, there's an open ticket about it T280378 [19:04:23] T280378: [L] [SPIKE] come up with a search satisfaction score for MediaSearch - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T280378 [19:05:05] the metrics we do have on MediaSearch are all here https://superset.wikimedia.org/superset/dashboard/236/ [19:10:02] oh cool. thanks
