[13:03:11] \o [13:41:47] today should be fun...it's copy the laptop to another laptop to ship out the old one day [14:20:54] Thinkpads are pretty sweet. I've never used Lenovo in the datacenter but I've always been kinda curious [14:30:04] ebernhardson: what I've done the past couple times is to do basically `tar ~ | tar2sqfs -c zstd ...` and that gives me something rather small that can still be losslessly mounted read-only [17:43:43] not having fun with this laptop :P It's unclear, some online things suggest they cant boot from usb-a and i need a usb-c thumbdrive [18:27:36] ahha, i guess i'm too old for this stuff. The answer was to reset secure boot (even though secure boot was disabled). [18:27:48] also randomly curious, the usb-a port on the right side gets 5MB/s, the one on the left does 11MB/s [18:29:49] That's a pretty big delta [19:41:10] surprise to me...should have noticed earlier, this laptop has a spanish keyboard. [20:24:53] I know that some Mac models have different transfer rates for different USB ports on the same laptop (the current Neo has one USB-2 and one USB-3). Always felt a little penny-pinching. The Spanish keyboard is amusing. ¿Is it easier to type ñ and ¡ now? [20:59:55] lol, indeed it does have those keys. But i think i'm going to set it to us keyboard and ignore the keys
