[14:01:17] Emperor: some headsup, sometime today, we will mirror some maps traffic from codfw to eqiad so to start warming up tegola's swift containers [14:02:05] in other words, nemo-yianni.s and I will be putting objects into swift [14:03:18] that's thanos-swift not ms-swift, yes? [14:15:16] yes [14:15:18] thanos [14:15:50] if something goes south, we will kill the pods in eqiad, and in theory it will stop [14:27:42] I'm particularly happy about the "in theory" there :-) [14:59:51] * Reedy thinks effie needs to watch some more Marvel movies [15:00:08] * effie has disney+ [15:00:29] do not challenge me Reedy [15:01:53] * Emperor isn't sure who to groot for in the Reedy / effie showdown :) [15:12:21] :p [15:20:03] o/ would it be possible for someone to invalidate the cache of a specific REST url that was just updated? namely https://meta.wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/data/css/mobile/pcs [15:37:15] While attempting to follow https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Server_Lifecycle#Rename_while_reimaging, the interface_automation.ProvisionServerNetwork (https://netbox.wikimedia.org/extras/scripts/interface_automation.ProvisionServerNetwork/) Netbox script seems be failing (output says '...interfaces already defined: mgmt, skipping.'). Does this ring any bells for any one? [15:37:47] This is the first time I've tried to do this, so I'm sure I'm doing something wrong ;) [15:43:12] Reading the doc, I'd assume it's normal since the mgmt interface isn't deleted in the step before [15:44:34] but maybe someone with more xp on netbox knows better [15:44:39] jbond you around? [15:45:55] it's a public holiday in Spain [15:48:41] right, and in italy [15:48:55] so no j.bond and no v.olans [15:52:50] cumin question: how should I be doing "sudo cumin 'O:thanos::backend and A:bullseye'"? [that explodes with a syntax complaint, but I thought combining queries was meant to be doable [15:53:35] You need to wrap iirc [15:53:36] ] [15:54:53] cgoubert@cumin1001:~$ sudo cumin 'P{O:thanos::backend} and A:bullseye' [15:54:55] Emperor: Try `P:{O:thanos::backend} and A:bullseye` ? https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Cumin#Global_grammar_host_selection [15:54:55] 2 hosts will be targeted: [15:54:57] thanos-be[2001-2002].codfw.wmnet [15:54:59] DRY-RUN mode enabled, aborting [15:55:05] claime: jinx [15:55:32] * claime jinxed [15:55:43] :( [15:56:39] thank you both :) [16:21:50] heads up on https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/operations/puppet/+/863338/4 - it deletes the two conftool service keys "varnish-fe" and "ats-tls" (replaced by "cdn"). They're unused at this point (by pybal, various depooling scripts, cookbook, etc), or so we think. But it's possible some obscure thing we missed is still looking at them, and thus we might end up needing some corrective followups. [16:21:56] trying this out shortly
