I was wondering if Wikimedia wikis will allow interwiki links in non-English Unicode in the future if the community agrees. I tried it on my personal wiki and found it possible to make interwiki links in non-English characters. [18:47:35] KhattabHasan: we already have some https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Interwiki_map [18:48:23] Well, one. [[ĈEJ:]] [18:49:30] Whose target is helpfully down. [18:49:40] This one is actually Latin. I was talking about non-latin, like- indic or arabic etc. [18:51:33] What's the use case? Interwiki links needed across many indic language wikis? [18:58:01] Actually there was a proposal to add Bangla wgNamespaceAliases to Bangla Wikipedia. Then comes the issue of whether this is the only thing that should be added or interwiki links as well. For example, [[s:]] first redirects to en.wikisource, if [[স:]] will be an interwiki link it will first redirect to bn.wikisource. [19:10:39] ah! the log bot doesn't support non-latin character yet! [19:10:49] The question is, is there any plan to add non-Latin or any localized word as an interwiki prefix in production wikis? [19:13:06] If not, then we can go forward with the proposal. [20:26:01] How do i create an extension that allows once to login and signup with twitter? or is there any active extension that does this? Please help ive looked everywhere [20:27:58] Try #mediawiki. This channel is for Wikimedia wikis.
