[16:16:08] btullis enwiki dump is... weird... https://dumps.wikimedia.org/enwiki/20250103/ [16:21:34] file a bug? [16:23:50] and say what "enwiki dump is weird"? there's a lot of activity related to dumps on the tracker. btullis can file a much better report than 'enwiki dump is weird' if it's needed. [16:25:56] Headbomb_, and say what makes you think that it is weird. The bug report template guides you and people (plural) who look at dump issues may see it. But of course you can also cross fingers that an individual will see a message days later in an ephemeral medium and then manage to react :) [17:16:47] Headbomb_: the enwiki dump is currently disabled. See https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T368098#10420587 [17:17:46] Those weird files were inadvertently created by me on Friday, as part of my work on. https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T382947 [17:19:10] For context, I am also working on https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T352650 so I am trying to get a better understanding of how the dumps run, so that we can a) switch the database servers that they use and b) move them to kubernetes [17:19:21] ... and hopefully Airflow. [17:19:41] btullis ... damn, was looking forward to the new dumps.... do you estimate they'll be resumed by January 20th ish? [17:20:55] i saw that phab ticket, but didn't know what to make of it. i'll follow it to see the progress [17:21:57] ugh, shit, password was reset or something... god i hate how universal logins are handled by firefox/mediawiki or whatever [17:22:01] Yes, I expect so. But it's complicated because the enwiki dump is causing database lag in the core databases at the moment, so there are some stakeholders who would like them to remain paused. I am trying my best to mediate.
