[09:22:43] Next Wikifunctions & Abstract Wikipedia Developers-Volunteers' Corner will be held *Monday 6 March, at 18:30 UTC* (https://zonestamp.toolforge.org/1678127403) [09:22:44] [09:22:46] Link to the meeting: https://meet.jit.si/AWVolunteersCorner [10:50:05] is wiki function planning to migrate all its code to GitLab? [10:58:16] wiki functions currently use ductTape right? [11:07:02] There are functions and Z objects [11:07:02] Critical user journeys include the following- [11:07:04] * Creating, editing, and deleting z objects. [11:07:05] * Creating(implementations), editing, and deleting functions. Also for function, there are testers as well. [11:07:17] Am I right? [11:29:54] Also why wikifunction build test failed when a new natural language(Kus) was added to Wikimedia core? [17:59:43] Eventually all of Wikimedia development will move to Gitlab, is my understanding. This will take a while. (re @Nikhil: is wiki function planning to migrate all its code to GitLab?) [18:00:41] Because we're checking if we have an item for every language in MediaWiki core, and if not, the respective test fails (re @Nikhil: Also why wikifunction build test failed when a new natural language(Kus) was added to Wikimedia core?) [18:12:57] ok thanks [19:11:14] Nikhil would you be interested in pairing on one of the e2e tests and chatting some more about the CI setup? [19:15:17] yes, I am very interested and excited too, [19:15:18] Thanks for having me such a great opportunity [19:15:57] kindrobot [19:39:05] What timezone are you in Nikhil61 and what's your email? (Private message me if you'd rather not share it publicly). [19:52:21] kindrobot My timezone is UTC+5:30 (India) but it is not an issue as I will manage. My email id is nik.xyz.in@gmail.com [20:02:02] kindrobot: Still a bit upset, but I start moving on. Thanks everyone! [20:03:48] I used to see offers that last several weeks (and recruitment processes that last even more), but that's maybe rather cultural. [20:12:31] s/everyone/for your words/ [20:39:55] Yeah, that's also traditionally been the case at the foundation. I think what happened this time was a combination of a lot of layoffs in the industry world wide, combined with this being one of the only two engineering job postings on WMF, meant that we got a flood of applications and it was becoming too intractable to review them all for the recruiter and hiring manager. [20:43:08] OK, I understand better now the situation and the decision!
