[08:17:08] Thanks, you can do it! (re @vrandecic: If you switch the type to string on the function, the rest should start working just fine. Happy to do it for you, if you prefer...) [08:18:42] It's a wiki, right? Or is the intention that each function will have the creator as the maintainer of it? [08:29:23] I assume denny was just giving nicolas the option of trying to make the changes himself first, as a learning opportunity [08:45:10] if you don't mind me asking, would you be up for sharing your rationale or thought process for picking the monolingual text over the string type, or any other type? i would be curious to learn more on the decisions and experiences that led you to that the choice. thank you! (re @Nicolas: Thanks, you can do it!) [08:49:21] at Wikimania there will be @jdforrester and @quidditywiki for sure attending in person from the team, not so sure about the volunteers, because I don't have the list of participants at hand (re @Nicolas: wow, it's been almost a year that I didn't go to Wikifunctions beta... [08:49:22] I see the interface changed quite a bit (for the better) ...) [13:00:57] the lemmata and form representations of Wikidata lexemes are monolingual text values (e.g. at L2465 the word is given as "لَبَن"@ar rather than "لَبَن", and so on for all of its forms) (re @internetam1n: if you don't mind me asking, would you be up for sharing your rationale or thought process for picking the monolingual text over...) [14:47:10] Ege: if you want to do some debugging, you have a couple of options. What I usually do is change the output of my function to `Z881`, then add a bunch of debugging stuff to the output list. The alternative is to build the backend stack locally and enable some debugging; I've done this before, but it's usually more trouble than it's worth. [16:11:03] Mainly influenced by lexemes (as Mahir said) [16:11:04] Also this function is for French only so I wanted a way to check that the string is indeed in French... but in truth, it's not that important, we can also rely on the users to do the right thing... (re @internetam1n: if you don't mind me asking, would you be up for sharing your rationale or thought process for picking the monolingual text over...) [17:46:42] Done, it should work now (re @Nicolas: Thanks, you can do it!) [17:48:00] Nikki is right. It's a wiki, everyone can do it, and Niki got my motivation right. (re @Nikki: I assume denny was just giving nicolas the option of trying to make the changes himself first, as a learning opportunity) [17:48:15] :D [21:19:48] https://youtu.be/5lL1ypndnWA
