[16:34:03] Brief reminder that our meeting will happen in less than one hour, see you there! (re @Sannita: Hi all! Our next Wikifunctions & Abstract Wikipedia Developers-Volunteers' Corner will be held Monday August 7, at 17:30 UTC. [16:34:04] [16:34:05] A...) [18:02:13] Hello everyone, I can't join the conversation due to Jitsi problems I think, is there any way for anyone to help me? [18:02:27] it just ended [18:02:43] the corner ended for this month, which kind of problems did you have? [18:02:47] Oh okay, I'll read the meeting notes if you took any :› [18:03:02] None (that I can think of), I just wanted to join the meeting (re @Sannita: the corner ended for this month, which kind of problems did you have?) [18:04:04] huh, no meeting notes, but we basically discussed our upcoming presentation at Wikimania, then discussed the problems we (almost) fixed on our side that made us stop giving out rights, and then some more discussion about how to collect feedback on the UX at Wikimania [18:04:47] about the problem, it was a security problem that is about to be fixed, but we cannot disclose details about it because... well. security reasons [18:05:59] Oh okay, thank you very much [18:06:38] anyway, I meant which problems did you have with Jitsi :) it's important that we know, because we already had some problems in the past, so maybe it was again those [18:08:28] Oh, I had unstable connection to begin with, but the first problem was that the sound was very low, and after I tried to refresh and everything, I was in a room with only myself. (Could have been after the end of the meeting) (re @Sannita: anyway, I meant which problems did you have with Jitsi :) it's important that we know, because we already had some problems in t...) [18:09:02] probably effect of the unstable connection [18:09:46] also, it could have been again the problem with audio/video that we had in the past, after you reach a certain amount of users Jitsi starts having video/audio problems [18:09:57] and it's not fixable on our side [18:13:35] Hmm, I still support the move to open source software (instead of Google or Zoom for example) though, they'll probably fix it eventually [18:16:32] Hopefully... also because in case of new malfunctions our current backup plan is to move to Google Meet [18:17:00] I know, but it's the only viable solution that we can set up in a couple of minutes [18:17:27] Still, we prefer to use Jitsi for community meetings [18:18:09] was Jitsi hosted by Wikimedia or by Jitsi? [18:18:55] The latter [18:19:18] We don't use the Wikimedia instance of Jitsi because it's bugged and deprecated [18:19:29] (it's a long story) [18:19:30] oh, f (re @Sannita: We don't use the Wikimedia instance of Jitsi because it's bugged and deprecated) [20:19:53] Newsletter 114: Wikifunctions is starting up - https://diff.wikimedia.org/2023/08/07/wikifunctions-is-starting-up/ [20:20:07] Well, although everyone in this channel is probably already better informed that the newsletter 🙂 [20:33:52] @Sannita FYI (re @Sannita: Good point, I'll take care of this) [20:41:36] Thanks for the reminder, but I'll do it tomorrow (now it's 11:41 PM for me) :) (re @Nintendofan885: @Sannita FYI) [20:41:54] ah ok [23:38:49] Filed T343772 for that (re @Ameisenigel: Why can I add a label without specifying the language?
