[17:41:29] Hi all! Our next *Volunteers' Corner* will be held today at 18:30 UTC (https://zonestamp.toolforge.org/1704738600) (which is in around 50 minutes, apologies for the late posting). [17:41:30] [17:41:32] If you have questions or ideas to discuss, or you want to get in touch with the dev team, please join us! The link to the meeting is https://meet.google.com/xuy-njxh-rkw [17:41:33] [17:41:35] Hope to see you there! [17:44:38] late is relative, usually the reminders are too early for me and I've completely forgotten by the time it happens :P [17:45:24] that's encouraging :D [17:45:35] You abandoned jitsi? [17:46:32] we've had issues with audio and video, especially with a lot of participants [17:47:30] Okay then. See you when the WMF has set up their own server I guess :) [17:49:22] but besides audio and video, it's been working pretty well, eh? 🤪 (re @Sannita: we've had issues with audio and video, especially with a lot of participants) [17:50:03] I mean, if participants are less than 10, it works fine [17:50:42] but we don't want to limit ourselves too much on the participants' side [18:27:14] Hey, I saw this 4 minutes before the meeting (if I calculated properly), what will be talked about? (re @Sannita: Hi all! Our next Volunteers' Corner will be held today at 18:30 UTC (which is in around 50 minutes, apologies for the late posti...) [18:29:40] (Kinda off-topic) I had been working on a Jitsi related project in our school, and the first step of it was to set up our own server. We failed to do it so we ended up turning in a documentation of how we failed. Jitsi's documentation is either lacking or really inaccesible, like we spent around 2 weeks trying to create a server on 2 different computers and failed on both. [18:29:41] [18:29:42] I hope the WMF does set up a server eventually, it would be really beneficial (re @Jan_ainali: Okay then. See you when the WMF has set up their own server I guess :)) [18:33:07] @Egezort These meeting are "an informal space for code review, talking about what volunteers have achieved or how to approach a task, which task is best to pick up next, and similar. Volunteers can come in with questions, show progress, discuss things, tell us about their plans, or ask for ideas." - I.e. General updates and questions from everyone! [18:38:04] (kinda sadly) don't hold your breath, unfortunately it's on the to do list since years at WMF (re @Egezort: (Kinda off-topic) I had been working on a Jitsi related project in our school, and the first step of it was to set up our own se...) [18:41:31] But at least it's _on_ the list? (re @Sannita: (kinda sadly) don't hold your breath, unfortunately it's on the to do list since years at WMF) [18:44:31] kinda... it's in the backburner (re @Jan_ainali: But at least it's on the list?) [18:45:10] That's a not-to-do-list :) (re @Sannita: kinda... it's in the backburner) [18:59:28] Anything a volunteer effort can make progress in? Like I'm going to continue on the Jitsi project and I assume that I'll be kinda well versed in it once I can overcome some hurdles, may help in setting up a WMF server too. (re @Sannita: (kinda sadly) don't hold your breath, unfortunately it's on the to do list since years at WMF) [18:59:41] I had to leave the meeting early btw, but I'll test some of the tools when I have time! [19:01:41] you might want to chat witn Ladsgroup about how setting up the now-defunct meet.wmcloud.org went (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/board/4729/query/all/) (re @Egezort: Anything a volunteer effort can make progress in? Like I'm going to continue on the Jitsi project and I assume that I'll be kind...) [19:02:08] Poslovitch type 8171 [19:02:18] 8171 [19:02:22] thank you [19:05:37] in the list of labels in other languages, the labels don't have language attributes in the html, is that a known issue? [19:07:42] @Nikki I think that might covered by https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T343464 -- if not, please file a new task! [19:29:18] aha, yes, that's exactly it! thanks :)
