[10:51:02] 1374 [11:21:02] made a new function during [[mw:Wikimedia Tech Safari Program]]: Z13087 [18:40:23] It’s nice, but we only double a final consonant if it comes immediately after a single vowel. At the moment the function gives “curbbing”, “postting”and “treking”, which are all incorrect. (The final syllable would also need to be stressed. This was discussed before so I’ll see if I can find the more complete rules.) (re @lucaswerkmeister: made a new function duri [18:40:23] ng [[mw:Wikimedia Tech Safari Program]]: Z13087) [18:48:09] [December 5th] (re @Al: I don’t believe there is a specific rule for adjectives. The “general” rule for doubling a final consonant applies to a stressed...) [19:15:08] I added trek → trekking Z13103 but I am not authorized to connect it. [19:17:34] connected, thanks [19:17:58] I didn’t realize you’re not a functioneer – if you want to try editing the function I can disconnect it? [19:18:03] (then you should be able to edit it I think) [19:32:28] Thanks. I’ll leave it for now. I don’t think I’ve ever coded in Python. The same logic applies to -ed, -er -est, -ish and -y …there may be others.
