The conversion logic should stay in one place so that implementing a new unit in, say Cyrrilic, function, why shouldn't it be immediately available for Latin, Arabic and Chinese? For example if you wanted to know how many قدم عربية are in саже́нь, it's most likely that such conversion would be supported only in such 'universal' function
