[06:41:59] FYI @vrandecic you were asking in one of the Volunteer's Corners how often we needed to call functions from within functions, when composition is possible instead. One example I came across today was when setting up a fast JS implementation Z21995, I needed to copy and adapt quite a bit of code in from other functions to reproduce what the composition Z21643 does as [06:41:59] function cal [06:42:00] ls. In this case the end product is probably slightly more efficient after the adaptations, but it would have resulted in much less duplication to just call the sub-functions. (re @u99of9: I'd also be delighted to tweak the final paragraph if the reader function is connected by then. Because they need language param...) [08:31:39] Just collecting all the right ones in one place: Z21925 Z21930 Z21956 Z21971 (re @vrandecic: I am happy to connect display and read functions for both float and rational, just trying to make sure I get the right ones.) [11:41:12] Done. Thank you for collecting it here, great service! 🙂 (re @u99of9: Just collecting all the right ones in one place: Z21925 Z21930 Z21956 Z21971) [12:23:47] Thanks. I tried a couple of functions and they behaved as expected. If others notice issues, please speak up (re @vrandecic: Done. Thank you for collecting it here, great service! 🙂) [12:25:04] The same! I tried a few and it looked good [20:35:43] Newsletter #187: [20:35:44] * With 2000 Functions into the new year: time for stats [20:35:45] * Next Volunteers’ Corner on 3 February [20:35:47] * Recent Changes in the software [20:35:48] * News in Types: Read and display functions for Rational and Floating point numbers [20:35:50] * Function of the Week: Python converter to float64 [20:35:51] * Fresh functions weekly [20:35:53] https://www.wikifunctions.org/wiki/Wikifunctions:Status_updates/2025-01-29 [20:49:14] I guess you deliberately reduced the number of links in the FOTW section. But accidentally removed the link to the function itself. [23:54:25] @vrandecic where do the examples on renderer boxes come from?
