[19:01:24] Welcome Asd [19:53:07] Please have all functions being deployed to the Dagbani Wikipedia because I feel some of the functions are but visible on the Dagbani Wikipedia either by searching via text or the function ID [19:56:50] I wanted to create an article where I can invoke the Z24102 and then invoke its description from another function, and in another sentence invoke Z23080 to give me the alias but none of all these functions show up upon search with both text format and the function ID too [19:57:09] Again, I wanted to quote the population of a city using the Z19308 so that as and when the value changes on Wikidata, the Wikipedia is automatically updated but it was not available for use [20:00:00] No, not all functions can be used in this way. Please see [[Wikifunctions:Embedded function calls]] for what should work. (re @Dnshitobu: Please have all functions being deployed to the Dagbani Wikipedia because I feel some of the functions are but visible on the Da...) [20:05:48] I think neither of these functions would be available yet, but I will check. It is not the functions themselves but their inputs and outputs that determine this, if all is working correctly. (re @Dnshitobu: I wanted to create an article where I can invoke the Z24102 and then invoke its description from another function, and in anothe...) [20:08:30] Then again I think there should be a Wikifunctions button on articles that has Wikifunctions in it so that it will be visible to editors right from the word go and the button on each article I think should display all the used functions on that particular wikipage [20:09:34] The way that Wikifunctions works with Wikidata means that some types of data are not yet available. These include numbers and dates, which is obviously very restrictive. Work is underway to keep adding to the types of data that we can get from Wikidata. (re @Dnshitobu: Again, I wanted to quote the population of a city using the Z19308 so that as and when the value changes [20:09:34] on Wiki [20:09:34] data, the Wikipe...) [20:12:33] That is good feedback. I think something like this is being considered but I don’t think there are definite plans yet. (re @Dnshitobu: Then again I think there should be a Wikifunctions button on articles that has Wikifunctions in it so that it will be visible to...) [20:28:13] [[Wikifunctions:Embedded function calls#Wikidata entity usage for inputs]] says not yet, but coming quite soon. (re @Al: I think neither of these functions would be available yet, but I will check. It is not the functions themselves but their inputs...) [20:35:21] Ok so when I use the age function for living person and he dies later in the near future, it means the age will continue to loop and count the person age until the function is removed or how would we stop it [20:46:17] I think so. I expect you would remove the function or enter the date of death. In the future, we should be getting the date of death from Wikidata and only use the current date when there is no such date. But that would be a different function like “age for this person”, where just the person’s Wikidata item reference is passed. This is a function we cannot build yet but [20:46:17] I [20:46:18] am sure it will be one of the first ones, once Wikidata dates are available to Wikifunctions. (re @Dnshitobu: Ok so when I use the age function for living person and he dies later in the near future, it means the age will continue to loop...) [20:54:24] I will love to see the Chinese Remainder theorem function and how to implement [20:58:34] Most of the functions I feel would be very experimental in wikiversity.org
