[00:35:24] Is it possible to embed a function into a page (using wikitext) that takes an input of type config (Configuration of functions for given languages), or would this require a module to be created (or would it be impossible)? For example, I want to embed Z38308 into Abstract Wikipedia:Useful functions for article composition [06:28:31] Use Template:Z like {{Z|Z38308}} (re @Mateo: Is it possible to embed a function into a page (using wikitext) that takes an input of type config (Configuration of functions f...) [06:38:07] I think Mateo wants to run the function in the page, not just link. In which case you need to embed the function call as described here: [[:functions:Wikifunctions:Embedded_function_calls]]. Try it out, but it doesn't accept all input/output types. [09:37:02] Can i force an update of a generated text? [11:33:50] <[[smlckz]]> I've started a discussion in the project chat: https://www.wikifunctions.org/wiki/Wikifunctions:Project_chat#c-Smlckz-20260812113100-Wikifunctions_as_a_programming_system [13:47:07] on abstract wikipedia? or on wikifunctions? there are different tricks on both. (re @Shi: Can i force an update of a generated text?) [14:25:30] Sorry. The former (re @u99of9: on abstract wikipedia? or on wikifunctions? there are different tricks on each.) [15:13:19] I haven't tested it. But I have seen the use of "nudge" in comments. I haven't seen any documentation on this [20:58:31] Nudging is on WF where if you change even an alias on the function, the system thinks the whole function has changed, so the cache is no longer valid. [21:01:39] On AW you can change the parameter "this article's subject" to the literal QID for the article. But you can only use this trick once per day, because it caches too.
