[02:03:41] Hello! I just created a wiki, but I'm very new and I am having trouble with some stuff. I read and rered the skin page on the help part, but I don't quite understand how to change it. I don't want to change functionality, just the overall appearance, like the grow song of the evertree wiki did. Can anyone direct me to a guide or video on how to do so, please? [02:27:21] [1/3] Hi there, the skin we opted to use for that wiki is Cosmos, which is based in part on Fandom's original Oasis design. [02:27:22] [2/3] * To enable more skins beyond the defaults, you can navigate to the Special:ManageWiki/extensions#mw-section-skins page on your wiki [02:27:22] [3/3] * To set which skin to use by default (and change the appearance of that skin, you can go to Special:ManageWiki/settings#mw-section-styling [02:28:17] If you have particular questions on which settings to tweak, folks will be happy to assist. [02:33:15] Thank you! [06:37:51] why did my wiki disappear [06:38:18] What was the link? [06:40:16] azverse.wikitide.org [06:40:50] i've been waiting on an import of templates to it but i have been updating files lately [06:42:09] To confirm you have edited it recently right? [06:43:21] I don't think so, no [06:43:37] But I am not sure why it didn't say anything about that to me [06:45:26] Email notifications are supposed to be sent out when the wiki is marked inactive, closed, and finally deleted. The wiki deletion script was ran for, I think, the first time today to drop deleted wikis. Wikis that have not been edited in a very long time. [06:45:36] It doesn't show up in the deleted list [06:46:39] if the script to drop deleted wikis is ran, it deletes them entirely, including from that list, that list only includes wikis marked by CreateWiki as deleted, not deleted from the database. [06:47:05] huh [06:47:10] We might have a backup of it though. [06:47:14] alright [06:47:17] if not, not much was on it [06:47:50] Next time if you plan to not edit for a long time, you can request an inactivity exemption (potentially a temporary one) [06:47:53] [1/2] i don't think i set up my account with an email [06:47:54] [2/2] when i try to confirm an email... [06:48:01] Thanks. [06:48:54] Oh that is why you were not notified, requesting wikis now requires an email which is better so users do get notified of things like that. Apologies for the inconvenience. [06:49:02] Can you copy and past the error you get? [06:49:27] > [f0290005c7efe125a9d0a8d4] 2023-11-21 06:47:37: Fatal exception of type "Wikimedia\Rdbms\DBQueryError" [06:50:01] I was waiting on importing templates from my old wiki from Mira. [06:50:40] Since the size of the xml files was above the maximum... I had to get it through an import request, which I don't think was fulfilled [06:52:38] [1/5] ``` [06:52:38] [2/5] [f0290005c7efe125a9d0a8d4] /wiki/Special:UserLogin?returnto=Special:ChangeEmail Wikimedia\\Rdbms\\DBQueryError: Error 1049: Unknown database 'azversewikitide' [06:52:38] [3/5] Function: Wikimedia\\Rdbms\\DatabaseMysqlBase::doSelectDomain\nQuery: USE `azversewikitide`` [06:52:39] [4/5] ``` [06:52:39] [5/5] Hmm... it seems like it was not deleted 100% properly however it was done. CC @agentisai [06:52:58] If not I apologise again for the issues, we should have backups though. [06:53:12] It was from Mira, I can DM you the xml files [06:55:12] Ah, was MH not fulfilled or WT not fulfilled I am confused. If we did not fulfil your request in the time that it would take to be eligible for deletion, that was a big oversight on our part and I apologize for that as well [06:55:23] WT [06:56:57] When did you file the request? It seems like we absolutely must have completely missed your request if it takes that long. It should not take more than a few days (maybe a week or a little longer but not that long) to process imports [06:57:18] yeah, seems deleteWikis doesn't delete entries correctly [06:57:25] but I did run that today [06:57:28] [1/2] It was on DC, here [06:57:28] [2/2] https://discord.com/channels/1088870295412146347/1165041779515592795/1165042038887153804 [06:57:43] It deleted a small amount of wikis [06:58:05] in preparation for Swift [06:58:42] I saw, but yeah, it seems it does not delete CentralAuth tables [06:59:14] should be fixed either way [06:59:29] the login issue, not the broken script [07:00:08] I will look tomorrow if you don't beat me to it, and also hopefully find a backup to restore for azverse [07:00:17] got it [13:38:07] @agentisai are you aware of https://hammertime.djdavid98.art/en-GB ? May be a nice way to tag times in service posts for discord. [14:09:21] I personally don't even needs that lol [14:10:37] But tbh this might help us all with this [14:11:32] Should $wgLogos (the new one) be installed manually? I thought WikiTide would prefer it over $wgLogo due to its discontinuation [14:12:48] Also plz inform me if in $wgLogos, using svg could resize the logo [14:13:01] it does [14:13:26] Look at my custom setup in the WT's repos [14:13:34] Is it just built into the desktop interface now? [14:14:25] not really, I just already used Vencord to modify my Discord client [14:14:34] Ah [14:14:46] then installs some plugins to custommize it further [14:38:04] So how to install it for my wiki? (obv itz default is $wgLogo) [14:39:55] Do you have something like "multiple version" of the logo in multiple languages? [14:40:33] if you don't then it don't looks that neccessary to me [14:40:40] I mean the $wgLogos config [14:41:48] [1/2] It is necessary actually for the logo being resizeable [14:41:49] [2/2] I can't build and vectorize a logo in such tiny res [14:42:05] can I see your wiki's logo? [14:43:16] picross.wikitide.org/wiki/File:Pikuw.svg [14:45:29] Also I know about the wordmark stitched below but I never mind it, my main issue is the resizing [15:28:31] Any Idea? [15:32:45] the wgLogo would actually also set `$wgLogos['1x']` too [15:36:45] I saw it already in the description, but it's pre-determined and couldn't be altered, I need the ['svg'] option (Have you read the $wglogos manual?) [15:39:13] I see. Sinces it was that advanced, you will have to make an PR at our `mw-config` repository if you know how to set it up, or make an Phorge task, if you don't [15:49:07] Thanks. And who should I assign it to? [15:49:51] mostly the SREs or an MWE will do, however, it's better that you triage it as Normal and don't assign to anyone just yet [15:51:11] Any one are doing the tasks then will claim them. [18:07:28] [1/2] I keep getting these errors when I try to submit an edit. [18:07:28] [2/2] "[758e115173c208250db843dd] 2023-11-21 18:06:44: Fatal exception of type "InvalidArgumentException" " [18:07:44] It goes through on the second time I submit it, but its reoccuring [18:11:57] now I'm getting it loading pages [18:13:08] Wikitide is doing filesystem maintenance, these oddities are to be expected, just wait a few hours. [18:13:14] not exactly [18:13:20] "InvalidArgumentException","message":"Cannot register a backend with no name."," [18:13:24] oh [18:13:26] ugh [18:13:27] of course [18:13:38] that was only regarding the files and uploading system. [18:14:05] I deployed changes to /srv/mediawiki/config but to create swift containers and didn't revert before deploying something else [18:14:39] I remember getting those kinds of errors in miraheze when dealing with files, hence my connection, sorry. [18:15:17] No need to be sorry, it wasn't meant that critically. [18:15:25] Didn't even need to edit [18:15:31] Just opened the main page [18:15:38] `e14d82da143c12b911fd26d4` for easy copy [18:16:00] Yeah it is the same error [18:23:01] now fixed [18:23:03] a file went missing [18:28:33] No problem, thankyou [21:54:14] Going from one discord server full of tech-illiterate folks to this discord server gives me major whiplash. lmao [22:18:52] They're trying over there.
