[07:06:49] Hello. I'm planning to make a wiki about an old game, full of secrets. I'd like to have a tiered spoiler system: the user could choose a spoiler level and then by default the wiki would show him all the lower level spoilers (and he wouldn't have to click on every equivalent "spoiler" button - only for the higher level ones). Do you know if this feature is possible on wikitide? [08:33:25] How much tiers you wanted exactly? [08:48:29] If you're intending to use show/hide tags, you can absolutely do this to some pretty extreme depths. Check out https://m.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Collapsible_elements for some general background [08:50:24] [1/2] Other types of spoiler tagging, such as the spoilers extension, will vary in how flexible that can be. [08:50:25] [2/2] If you have more examples of what you're trying to do, we can better guide you on how to proceed. [11:18:25] Thx guys. I guess I can begin with 2 tiers. What did you have in mind @songngu.xyz ? [11:19:06] [[mw:Extension:Spoiler]] [11:19:07] [11:19:17] hold me a sec [11:19:38] [[mw:Extension:Spoilers]] [11:19:39] [11:20:37] This is already installed so you can just enable it then use the parser to hide the content- [11:21:38] So by having 2 tiers, the lower tier will have a Spoiler warning at the top of the article, then for the higher tier will use the parser to hide them [11:31:11] Here is the idea @notaracham : at first, the user choose a spoiler level. Then on every page, it's tiers is shown by default (he doesn't have to click to see "Level 1" spoilers), and the other levels are classical ones, where he has to click to reveal them. [11:33:44] (The "remember my preference" is the most important part IMO. Since I'll have a lot of spoilers, it would be cumbersome to have to click them all) [11:41:35] ah, it is more than that- [11:42:15] Fun fact: If you have money, you can ask Universal Omega for an custom extension /j [11:48:37] And I understand by what you said that I cannot make my own custom extension to use in WikiTide, right? [13:10:54] I wouldn't say that's a strict rule. If the extension is only specific to your wiki then it would likely be declined but if it's "neutral" and can also be used on other wikis and is secure it would likely be fine [13:55:47] And something like Spoilers but more advanced like your can be a part of the "safe zone" if I understand correctly- [13:56:25] Like, you can set it up to allow users to hide certain kinds of spoils in demand [17:21:07] Yeah, the 'remember my choice' bit is the part I don't have a good solution for/might require some custom code, otherwise the rest is fairly straightforward to accomplish, it would be using mw-collapsible elements and then automating assignment of default states for a shared class [17:24:13] Ok thx 🙂 [18:33:53] You know what? I will try to make one- [20:08:08] Can a steward delete these pages for me? They're protected due to having >1000 edits. https://polcompball.wikitide.org/wiki/Special:AllPages?from=Ns200&to=Ns200%3AShadowRaiden&namespace=0
